WOW! This stuff is AMAZING for hand embroidery!!! I had some serious doubts about this product, as Ive tried tear away type products before (where you iron on embroidery designs for use on dark fabrics). The problems I encountered with those are largely due to my embroidery style, which is very detailed and very tight, closed stitching. The tear-away products would end up trapped within my embroidery causing hours of tedious tweezer work to get the tiny bits of white fabric out of the finished designs. Sticky Fabri-Solvy is SO SIMPLE to use and opens a entire WORLD of design options! Literally: an entire world! First, you find a design you love (or draw one yourself right onto the Fabri-Solvy). Then, you use your inkjet printer to print the design to whatever scale you want. I was timid about how it would pass through my cheap little printer, but I had NO problems at all. I set the printer to thick paper to be safe. Third, you peel the backing off and stick it directly to your work surface (mine was a denim jacket). Embroider your design. This product makes stitch placement much easier too, because it has a canvas-like texture. When you are finished with your project, place it in some warm water and watch the magic happen! This product simply dissolves away! My project was the entire back of a denim jacket. The Fabri-Solvy stayed in place very well for the entire project. I had absolutely no trouble removing the Fabri-Solvy when I finished my project, despite a LOT of tight satin stitches. It was completely dissolved within about 3 minutes of soaking. Someone mentioned that their needle got sticky while working. Over the course of the 2 months I worked on this project, I needed to clean my needle twice with a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol. I really found it to be no issue. Fabri-Solvy has definitely changed my embroidery possibilities for the better! I can embroider ANY design from ANY source on ANY shade of fabric I want. I am just blown away by this wonderful product and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I love this product! I recently decided to incorporate embroidery in my quilting. I found an amazing block of the month program with embroidery designs to coordinate with each month of the program. The designer suggested using this product to copy the design, stick it to the fabric and embroider it. I love that this store carries it on Amazon at a very good price. I had no problems embroidering my design...my needle did not gum up and I didnt have to use a hoop as this product stabilizes the fabric so well. I had no issues getting the stabilizer to dissolve when finished with my design...I used hotter water than warm, dunked it a couple of times and was so pleased with the way it dissolved completely. I am loving doing embroidery again and will use this product for all my future embroidery needs. I never cease to be amazed at the new products available to help make sewing so much easier!

What a delight to transfer a drawing my grandson gave me to a thin pure linen apron, medium weight dish towel and a thicker pair of jeans! And that only used 1 sheet. As expected, the hand embroidery needle retained some of the adhesive residue though that was very easily solved by twisting the needle in a used dryer sheet. The residue came right off and it was smooth stitching. My new go to for most of my stitching projects. Definitely cost effective.

This product worked wonders for cutting thin stretchy fabric. I just peeled off the backing and applied it to the fabric. I was even able to draw on it with a pencil so I could measure the pieces of fabric that I needed. I drew the pieces of fabric that I needed to cut right on the stabilizer, then I drew a small margin around the edges of the pieces to use for a guideline for my hand sewing, so my stitches would be even and straight! I kept the stabilizer on while I did my sewing because it made the fabric so much easier to work with. After all the sewing was done, I rinsed the pieces (one at a time) with warm running water and the stabilizer just melted away! I had to rub the places where I had sewn the fabric to get the stabilizer out from between the stitches, but it was super easy and kind of fun to watch it melt away! After the fabric dried, there was no trace left of the stabilizer. This was my first time using a stabilizer and Im definitely a fan of this stuff! No tearing or cutting needed to get rid of it, just water! Just be careful not to get it wet until youre ready to remove it!

This is the easiest way I’ve found to embroider any design onto clothing!! I just put a sheet in my printer, choose a design I want to trace, then print and stick it onto my shirt. It comes off easily with water and then in the wash all the leftover ink residue comes off! I absolutely love this stabilizer

I was able to embroider with great detail and was very happy about that. It’s is much harder to pass a needle through this stuff so the act of hand sewing was not as enjoyable as it usually is.

I used this on embroidery projects. It works just fine if you use it in small pieces. After awhile it does loose its stick. As far as rinsing it away well...be patient.

I used this to transfer a series of twelve designs on to fabric squares to use in a quilt. Tracing would have been way too time consuming! The product worked just as advertised. It printed clearly and transferred easily. I had no trouble working with the design trough the product, and it did NOT gum up my needle. Indeed, the added stability to the fabric worked to my advantage, in my opinion. THE ONLY REASON it did not get five stars was that, for me, it did not wash out as easily as I would have liked. I stitch a very tight line, and it was hard for me to get the water and the necessary agitation under the stitches in order to remove the dark line of the product. Also I had the same problem with the (tight) French knots. I had to scrub harder that I liked to remove the visible black dot. It was nerve wracking, as I was afraid I would dislodge my hard work! I must add that I WAS eventually able to remove the product with my efforts. I am buying more to make another set, so I this was not a deal breaker for me, and I would definitely recommend it as a useful and time saving aid for the stitcher.

I haven’t tried to remove it yet, so that could get interesting. So far, I’m very pleased with how easy it was to print directly on to the material and how well it has stuck to the canvas of my project. I can see so many fun projects in the future with this product!
