Way better than what you can find in most hardware stores. The twist locking dial holds snug and keeps the blade from slipping when stored or cutting.

The Tajima Tool Corp. Has created a well made, strong, retractable blade utility knife. Once set the blade length up to 3 will not slip. Ideal for box cutting, cutting dry wall or slicing 2 thick insulation. Some may object to having to turn the knob to tighten the blade position, but well worth the time to ensure a stable blade.

I use this in the sheet metal trade. Good, not great, heavy duty knife. After a while the blade gets a little difficult to slide in and out and the blades seem to dull pretty quick.

Performs as advertised.

The insulated pipe that I work with has a black plastic shell. Other utility knives wont lock the blade well and when I cut the blade pulls out of the knife. This cutter gets the job done!
