> 3 dayTCELL Gaming 128GB microSDXC: $22.49 at the time of review I just recently got a new laptop with a built-in microSD slot. I like using external cards for non-critical or large file/program storage (e.g. trying out a new game that I may or may not want to keep) as it keeps my hard drive better organized. This TCELL card seemed like the perfect candidate to fit the bill. This card comes in a completely retail package. It’s actually a nice full color clamshell cardboard and plastic pack that you might expect to find hanging on the wall of your favorite electronics store. The included adapter is also a nice touch. In terms of usability, it works (almost) exactly as advertised. In my case, I’m using it for large file storage (I’m actually using it for games, just on a PC) so I don’t use up my internal SSD space. It works just like any other microSD card. Unfortunately, it doesn’t quite live up to its advertised speeds. I’ve attached an image of the speed test tool I used. The write speed was almost spot-on at 79mb/second. But try as I might, I wasn’t able to get a read speed higher than 89mb/second, a full 10% slower than advertised. To make sure it wasn’t just my laptop microSD port, I tried the included adapter. I also tried it on a different computer (a Mac) and 89mb/second is still the best speed I could get. For the record, I also tested a Samsung EVO microSD card and it achieved 94mb/second (still not the advertised 100mb/second). I can’t speak to longevity, as I didn’t perform wear testing (I’m not interested in burning out my card before its time). One other consideration I’d like to make is regarding the cost. At $22.49, this 128GB card comes in at nearly $4 more than major competitors Samsung and Sandisk. It’s hard to justify a card that underperforms (even if only by 5% as compared to competitors) and costs *more* than other options. ------------ *The Good*: Nice package with included SD card adapter. *The Bad*: Underperforms promised speed. Costs about 20% more than equivalent options. *The Bottom Line:* This card will suit my needs just fine. The speed discrepancy from competitors is small (5%) and it is otherwise functional. That being said, I can’t recommend it at its current cost. Three stars out of five for general usability but slightly lagging performance and an increased cost hold back those last two stars. I would not order this again.

Greater than one weekGood card. I tested this in my Mavic Air 2 (which requires a U3 speed card). It recorded flawlessly! I tested both uploading to and downloading from this card with the same files to the same location...comparing it to a Samsung U1 card. The downloading from speed was almost identical for both cards but the uploading to was about 15-20% faster with this card. That’s about as scientific as I can get...good card. Performed well!

> 3 dayThe price/capacity of this card is basically the same as trusted brands like SanDisk and Samsung. The performance is about on par with those brands as well. Theres not a lot to distinguish this card from the others in this price range so its hard to recommend buying it over an established brand. The main thing for me anymore is reliability and its hard to gauge before writing a timely review for it. Ive had plenty of off-brand cards work fine for the first couple of months but once you re-write them five or six times they break - ostensibly as this is being marketed as a card for Nintendo Switch, its durability is going to be on-par with SanDisk or Samsung, but only time will tell. I will update this review in the future if and when the card fails.

> 3 dayMandatory disclosure: I received this microSD card at no charge to me as part of Amazon Vine program. TCELL Gaming 128GB microSD card turned out to be fast - real close to its specs, I noted 90MB/s read and 80Mb/s write speeds. It is fairly unusual for noname card to reach such high speeds. To compare to usual budget sdcard speeds - you will see 10-20Mb/s at best. This will come handy when storing, recording and reading music, video and photo on your mobile devices and PC. My hardest recommendations!

Greater than one weekI usually stick with name-brand cards but gave this one a shot for a handheld game emulator I have. In my experience, there are two critical tests of SD/MicroSD cards. The first one is whether the work, right out of the package. Ive gotten more than one in the past that has failed immediately (both name-brand and generic), but this one hasnt. Its been working now for a few days, so I feel like Im well past the period of immediate failure. The second test is whether its working a year later. I cant report on that yet. If it does fail, I will try to update this review. The write and read speeds seem snappy, but Im not exactly using it in any way that demands high speed. I transferred a few gigs of data to the card when I set it up and that one-time transfer seemed speedy. The card came with a full-size SD card shell to insert the MicroSD card into if you have an older device that uses that. I havent tested that. It didnt come with a case, which is also sometimes included with SD cards, though I cant remember ever personally using one of those, so its omission isnt missed by me.

> 3 dayThis is one of the faster cards I have tested. There are few others that may be faster, but anything faster for an external memory stick will be using something like M.2, which is an order of magnitude faster, but so is the price.

Greater than one weekGot around 89-91 on the read, and around 80-82 on writes in Crystal disk mark. This was the expected R/W speeds and it did not disappoint.

> 3 dayThis is an inexpensive microSD card that is plenty fast for my needs. I have used it with a still camera for shooting stills and video, and there were no dropped frames when shooting high definition video. I’ve also used it with a tablet and there were no compatibility issues. The card is a brightly colored red which is good - making it easy to spot when lying on a table. Thankfully it comes in packaging that is not difficult to open. Included is a SD card adapter. For the storage and speed, the price is certainly right - it’s as fast as any other microSD card I own. It represents a solid value.

> 3 dayIm currently using this memory card in an Anbernic retro handheld device to store my entire game library and it works amazing. I havent had any troubles with reading or writing and it has been quick to access any games I have stored on the card.

> 3 dayThis 128 GB SD card (actually micro SD with an SD adapter) delivers good value. It is advertised to have good read and write speeds and in practice I found this to be true, although as others have also found, the actual speeds are a bit under the advertised ones (which are likely measured under ideal favorable conditions). I dont know why its advertised as a gaming card although it certainly could be that. I put it in a low-end smartphone and it was the perfect extension to otherwise paltry storage. There are many other similar uses and its ideal for doing sneakernet transfers between appropriately equipped devices. Ill rate this five stars. Ill revisit the rating should there be an early failure, but I really dont expect anything like that.
