Definitely will soak up a lot of water when drying car. It is comparable to those mammoth towels.

Bought this back in the summer. I’m loving the rag so far. I got the 20 x 30 but because I have an SUV I’m gonna buy the 30 x 36. Probably the hardest part is wringing the towel out because it absorbs so much water.

This towel is extremely absorbent and soft to the touch. Highly recommend this for your first drying stage.
