Greater than one weekThese are excellent for strapping down canoes or such on vehicles. They’ve been around for years and hold up well. They do eventually break down over the years, over ten for me. I’m sure they’re not designed for heavy things, like 4 wheelers.

Greater than one weekThese Straps are better than other brands because of the rubber cover for the buckle. It enables you to toss the strap without fear of scratching your car. Very nice.

> 3 dayThe buckle protectors come in handy when tossing the strap over the car. The cams can loosen and it takes two hands to tighten, ratchet straps are a better option in my opinion.

> 3 dayThese cinch-down straps are superior to the ones sold at big box hardware stores. Thule makes outstanding racks, and these straps share the quality. These straps are clearly stronger and sturdier than the inexpensive store-bought straps. A rubber sleeve slides over the buckle to prevent scratching boat or vehicle. There was even a happy surprise: I always secure tag ends of tie down straps to prevent the tag ends flapping in the wind and scratching the vehicle, but cheap store-bought strap tag ends sometimes work loose and flap despite my efforts. These thicker, sturdier Thule straps do not work loose and flap. Also, cheaper hardware store straps eventually fray, these Thule straps appear to be longer lived.

03-12-2024I have 3 kayaks I move from time to time, and I purchased the Thule kayak carrier to go on my Thule rack. I was using a generic REI strap for one kayak, but I didnt realize how much of a pain it was until I started using these. These are simple, strong, and well designed to securely handle kayaks of all sizes. Its worth spending a tad more for these
