    Greater than one week

I bought this in the 1/2 size. Over the years Ive had a lot of 1/2 bandsaw blades. This blade was fine, however I didnt think it was anything special in terms of cutting quality or longevity. Im not saying anything negative about the blade, just that it didnt obviously stand a head and shoulders above any of the others I used. It did come with a very nice, detailed explanation about how to tension the blade to get the best cutting results from it, something I never saw with any of the other, cheaper blades. Its well-made and I recommend it, but its three times the price of other, cheaper blades Ive used, and if you damage it by accident (like forgetting to tension the blade before turning the saw on) youve just destroyed a $35 blade instead of a $12 one. I bought a second one recently (on a whim) and that one arrived defective with a rough weld that made a tinking noise each time it passed through the Cool Blocks. I feared the rough weld was eroding the Cool Blocks, so I quieted it slightly by smoothing the weld with a fine diamond stone. However, the weld is also misaligned, causing the blade to hop forward (at the weld) each time the weld comes around. I would have returned it, however I needed the blade immediately for a job I was involved in, so kept it. The blade cuts fine in spite of the weld problem, but not especially so.

New bandsaw owner (used Jet 14”) and after reading online about the highest quality blades I decided to go ahead and spend the extra money on the Timber Wolf. I had alread upgraded my saw with the Rockler 10 bearing guide kit but the blade that came with the saw still wandered all over the place and took way too much pressure to cut even soft wood. It felt sharp to me but I knew it needed replacing. Well once I installed and tuned the new 1/2” Timber Wolf blade, I marked a straight square line across scrap wood and cut it using the miter gauge. It tracked the line perfectly and went through it like I was cutting air. Spend the extra cash, you won’t be disappointed. I did not give a stat on longevity as I haven’t had it very long but will come back and revise this review once I’ve put some use into it.

Wow... these blades are amazing. Ive used bosch blades for years, never expecting there ro be much difference between plain steel blades... but these are no pin steel blades. They cut very fast with much lower tension and follow a line much better than the other blades Ive used. If your thinking of trying out these blades to see if there is a difference ... dont wait. Buy them now. If you dont , when you finally get around to it, youll wonder why youve suffered with subpar blades when these are readily available. They make my Harbor Freight 14 inch saw cut like a champ.

I have recently been using my 14 bandsaw to resaw hardwood for jewelry box building. This has required tuning the saw and building some fences to support the resawing Years ago I bought several widths of Rigid brand blades when they were marked down on clearance. After getting the saw tuned and some good fences built I managed to cut boards in half but the cut quality was so poor extensive planing was required. The reviews of Timberwolf on the Internet are all over the place but the majority are favorable so with Prime same day delivery I bought this Saturday morning and had it in hand by the late afternoon. I was aware this blade is low tension and I followed the instructions when I installed it. I made a test cut on a piece of ash and I am pleased. The quality of the cut is not perfect but it is very good and it may get better as I become more accustomed to pushing the board through without any stops. I will still run it through the planer but it will only take one light pass to clean it up. The blade runs quiet. Right now I think this is a winner, but I will also admit I ordered a 1/2 Wood Slicer blade from Highland just in case this one did not cut smoothly. I like this one well enough that had I waited until I could try it out I would not have ordered the Wood Slicer blade.

This blade has made a huge difference on my Delta 14” bandsaw. My unit has only 1/2hp motor which can barely run a high tensions resaw band. With this low tension design the saw is running better than ever now that it doesn’t have to fight so hard just to idle.

I had purchased another set of blades and installed them in my band saw and was instantly disappointed in them. I read on numerous sites that these were the blades to get especially if you would like to do resawing. I finally broke down and purchased the Timber Wolf blades and have not regretted it at all. I will be purchasing Nothing but Timber Wolf blades from this point on. I Installed the blade and set up my band saw for resawing and cut a 5 inch high Oak 1/2 inch wide and was amazed at the results. After cutting several more pieces I knew these were the blades to use from now on.

I rip thin stock for making boxes; and use a jig to run straight. This Wolf blade ran true better than any previous I have use. (I had to buy a second because i hit a broken screw in some used stock... Not the blades fault; but once the blade hit the screw it would not run true anymore.) I expect it to wear well (sans hitting screws ).

Timber Wolf makes the world"s only thin-kerf, low tension, silicon steel bandsaw blades that will outlast your old carbon steel blades by a mile! Your bandsaw will cut better and faster, with less wear on bearings, shafts and tires. Tooth angles and gullet symmetries, combined with a unique set pattern, create a blade that is everything a wood-cutting blade was meant to be. Blade has over 60% of the speed capabilities of a hook blade while giving you the great finish of a skip. The round design of the gullet eliminates any work hardening zones.
