This stand is well made and solid. Its pretty stiff, but that means that when you set it, it stays there. A release makes it easy to expand the support arms by 4 inches. So the elevation change is about 2 to 4 inches, depending on the degree of tilt in the support arms. For me, this really isnt enough to transition from sitting to standing. But the stand does allow me to tilt the laptop for better visibility. It also works well with an iPad. One application is on my workbench. I use an iPad to communicate with and collect data from a multi-meter via bluetooth. The stand keeps the iPad away from the tangle and easily visible. My wife is lookinig at it for cooking – keep the iPad (or laptop) out of the soup, with recipes easily visible. The ability to rotate around the base is a big help in both uses. In my opinion, it is a solid and versatile stand for laptops or tablets. I cant recommend it for a sit/stand application because I dont think it is cabable of enough vertical travel. At full extension, it does provide enough additional height to allow for standing at a table, but youll have to take the laptop off the stand when you are sitting. Also, unless the support arms are verrtical, the height adjustment will also result in horizontal offset as well. Im giving it 4 stars primarily because it really doesnt work for the sit to stand transition.

This laptop stand is awesome! I am able to to place my laptop which allows me to work in very different angles. It allows me to have a firm posture while I work on notes. I love that is very sturdy. I have a Apple macbook air but it will hold a heavier laptop as well. (I tried it). Overall the color available, the strong material and the flexibility is movements make this laptop stand, stand over other options. Strongly recommend this.

This offers the best option that I have found in a computer stand. Good value for the money. I am using it for a 16 MacBook pro

A very sturdy design. Use it for my Lenovo Legion 5 Pro and it holds it great. I was also able to put a big cooling pad (laptop RGB cooling stand with fan inside) and the laptop on top of it and it still felt sturdy and secure. It is quite versatile as the 360 degree rotation is immensely useful as it gives just about any viewing angle possible. Pros: Versatile, sturdy, strong, rubber grips on bottom Cons: not very mobile, take a bit of force to adjust angle and height, quite large

I purchased the laptop stand to provide a standing option at my desk in my home office. The stand is very sturdy. As others have reported, the mechanism takes a little muscle to pull into place, but the stand doesnt shift while typing. The swivel easily allows me to adjust throughout the workday. I easily found the right height and angle for my MacBook.

Great for small desk and very versatile.

A bit thick at 2 and half inches folded I little heavier than expected, it takes a good amount of effort to get any hinges to move but it will certainly hold up your heaviest laptop at all the angles and heights it offers rotates 360 both directions a solid build let me reiterate that it takes EFFORT to bend any hinges not really best for frequent readjustment.

I ordered this for my portable work from home setup. I use this to hold my laptop and also have a portable monitor and wireless keyboard / mouse. I have a flexible work arrangement so sometimes work from places for a few weeks. Not worth bringing my whole work setup but nice to have something beyond just my laptop. This stand folds down very flat which is great and is VERY sturdy and easy to adjust. Even better, no assembly required.

Just as I expected, best investment ever for work( medical field) I love it!!
