I recently bought a pair of these locks for an upcoming domestic trip. They seem very sturdy, and the only people who have the keys are me and the TSA. (There is a number on the bottom of the lock, which I assume tells TSA which key to use.) The keys are not serrated like a door lock, but have pits or dimples on both sides of the key. I am confident these locks will fit the bill, and I will update after my trip if proven otherwise. (For comparison, I bought some inexpensive locks some years ago from a different vendor (not on Amazon), and not only were the locks broken by TSA, but they tried to duct tape my bag back together. It failed.)

Small but sturdy and the keys are quite difficult to obtain.

Im not sure what prevents anyone from making an strong robust lock that the TSA can open but cant be pried apart with a 18 bar, snapped with 12 bolt cutters or sliced through in 3 seconds with a 4 grinder. But, Ive used TSA approved travel locks from master lock, brinks, Lewis and Clark, SwissGear and others. None of them were any stronger. For the last year, Ive been using a pelican air 1615 for a suitcase, and having such a large, rigid hard sided case probably has something to do with how easily they break. Often I check my bag with 2 locks on it and get it back with 1 left. At least with the 6 pack, I still have 4 more keyed alike. But after about 12 trips (each including at least 1 stopover, at least 48 different flights), the 5th of the 6 locks fell apart opening my bag. I think Ill just go back to using zip ties. But if you really have to have locks on your checked bag, I dont know where you would find something better then this that wont just get cut off by TSA. (or, have TSA do whatever they do when they cant open it. Leave it behind? Throw the whole bag away? blow it up? Im not sure, dont want it done with my stuff). If your trying to lock stuff up in your room, buy better, non-tsa locks and just dont use them when checking it on the plane.

I gave this a 3 stars because one of the keys for the locks did not work. It stuck in the lock and I had to pull it out which took over 5 minutes. They are overall a nice set of locks. Had to return them because of the key getting stuck in the lock.

Terrific price and quality for these small-medium size locks. Ive already put all four in operation, in preparation for a household move, and Im very satisfied with the physical locking mechanism; keys unlock easily. Do recommend!

This case is very well made and easy to fit to the contour of my M1911 handgun. The handgun is a family resource and was given to me as both a remembrance of a dear friends active-duty service in the US Army during the Korean War and my strong attachment to the M1911 Pistol that I used during my active duty and USAR tenure in uniform. It will be given to my oldest son when I am no longer around, and he will carry on our family tradition of Duty/Honor/Country.
