> 24 hourI read other peoples comments before buying and here is what worked for me: 1) Reading is fundamental. Read the directions before you begin. 2) Soak your white, 100% cotton only garments for 2 minutes BEFORE dyeing. Squeeze out excess water after 2 minutes. 3) I used small, hair braiding rubber bands instead of the rubber bands that came in the kit. 4) I used my own nitrile gloves instead of the garbage ones that came in the kit because I wanted to keep my hands sans dye. 5) Check the wattage on YOUR microwave before determining the appropriate cook time. I had no browning of my garments because I chose the time that suited my microwave oven. Hint: theres a chart in the directions. 6) Allow your garments to fully dry after microwaving before washing or wearing. 7) I prepared everything in my stainless steel, kitchen sink for easy clean up. 8) Be careful shaking the bottles to mix the powder dye and water. The kids are garbage. I avoided mess by keeping a finger firmly on the lid as I gently shook it. Enjoy! This is a great, easy-to-use kit if you read the directions and use a little common sense.

> 24 hourThe name of this product is misleading- took us about 2 hours to complete 5 shirts. You have to microwave your shirt for 2-3 minute and then it has to sit in the box for 15 minutes or more to cool. The kit only comes with 2 boxes so if you’re doing more than 2 shirts, there is a lot of lag time. Only use cotton shirts, as per instructions! Color faded some after being washed once. It isn’t as bright as it looked before we washed the shirts. But it isn’t all washed out like some people said happened to them. 4/5 overall 3/5 kit supplies - should have more than 2 boxes 5/5 creation - easy to use!

> 24 hourWas doubtful this would work as well as it did so I was pleasantly surprised with our results! The kit was very easy to use for this first-time tie dyer. The instruction page was simple to follow. My swirl actually worked! The colors were easy to mix. But, the tip cap didn’t fit securely on all the bottles so I made quite a mess of my hands shaking the bottles to mix. Definitely do this outside! Despite the mess, the colors mixed, they looked brilliant on the shirts and the instruction guide helped us make great designs. We did use the microwave box and microwaved for instructed time. But after reading other reviews about fading, I still kept the shirts to dry in the sun after microwaving anyway. I think that helped. We did 2 kids M shirts and 2 adult L shirts. Had enough date to probably do one more shirt. We definitely used a lot of dye on each shirt to make sure the colors came our bright. Very pleased with this. Recommend to others!

> 24 hourTie dye made easy with beautiful results. My only complaint is that the tray that holds the tie dyed item for microwaving is rather small - this makes it hard to put the dyed item in there without overlapping parts of it, which caused some of the dyes to bleed into areas that werent supposed to be that color. Overall though, this was still a lot easier and faster than other tie dye methods used. For kids who want a fun project and who arent expecting for perfect results, this was great.

> 24 hourI wanted to try to tie dye so my husband bought me this kit. It was easy to use. I have never tie dyed before but was able to make 3 crop tops. I just bought small boy-sized cotton tees and cut them and then dyed them. I thought they turned out pretty nice. Just make sure you wear the gloves and do this in an area where you can clean up easily because it is pretty messy.
