The name of this product is misleading- took us about 2 hours to complete 5 shirts. You have to microwave your shirt for 2-3 minute and then it has to sit in the box for 15 minutes or more to cool. The kit only comes with 2 boxes so if you’re doing more than 2 shirts, there is a lot of lag time. Only use cotton shirts, as per instructions! Color faded some after being washed once. It isn’t as bright as it looked before we washed the shirts. But it isn’t all washed out like some people said happened to them. 4/5 overall 3/5 kit supplies - should have more than 2 boxes 5/5 creation - easy to use!

Ready to use and lots of fun. We did this with our 4 year old and we had a blast.

Only tie dye I will use from now on! Easy to use, plenty of color, and sets well

I ordered a set of just the containers (4) and a dye kit. The set of 4 was missing one, and only one of the 3 containers would close properly. The dye kit, the containers closed, havent used the dye yet. If youre doing a ton of shirts, do it the old fashioned way because otherwise stopping between shirts to microwave is going to eat your time. Otherwise grab a buddy and make a tight system. I will say, the shirts I did came out brighter and seemed to lose less color in the wash. BUT I did use a soda ash soak- but they say that isnt needed as it is in the dye. IDK. I use a different brand more often and havent experimented with Tulip nearly as much.

I read other peoples comments before buying and here is what worked for me: 1) Reading is fundamental. Read the directions before you begin. 2) Soak your white, 100% cotton only garments for 2 minutes BEFORE dyeing. Squeeze out excess water after 2 minutes. 3) I used small, hair braiding rubber bands instead of the rubber bands that came in the kit. 4) I used my own nitrile gloves instead of the garbage ones that came in the kit because I wanted to keep my hands sans dye. 5) Check the wattage on YOUR microwave before determining the appropriate cook time. I had no browning of my garments because I chose the time that suited my microwave oven. Hint: theres a chart in the directions. 6) Allow your garments to fully dry after microwaving before washing or wearing. 7) I prepared everything in my stainless steel, kitchen sink for easy clean up. 8) Be careful shaking the bottles to mix the powder dye and water. The kids are garbage. I avoided mess by keeping a finger firmly on the lid as I gently shook it. Enjoy! This is a great, easy-to-use kit if you read the directions and use a little common sense.

Lots of dyes. Great colors. The grandkids loved it and had a mot of fun. We made 4 size small youth t-shirts (for 9 and 8 year olds) and have plenty left over to make more. Loved the microwave aspect which really sped the process up. The bottles leak though so be careful. Otherwise just great!!

My only complaint is that the bottles leak a lot. Wear gloves even when adding the water; the screw on tops dont seal well. Because of this I couldnt save any left over dye for future use. Directions were easy to follow and accurate. The colors came out very vibrant and stayed that way after the first wash (I havent done a second wash yet). The microwave process was amazing for completing the project before the birthday party ended. Overall I would use this product again.

My daughter (7) absolutely loved playing with this and making her shirts and oneies for her new baby brother.

I bought this for the quick use rather than waiting a day or letting it soak in vinegar as with other sets. I was skeptical, but happily surprised. We did 4 kids shirts and couldve done more items, but just didnt have more that we wanted to do. Buy extra rubber bands if youre doing quite a bit of items. Theres not that many and also you cant reuse all of them if you need to cut them (especially if youve put them on super tight.) It comes with a little guide about rubber band styles and they worked pretty well. The bottles were easy to use and squeeze even for the 3 year old. We did realize on the first one that we hadnt inspected it close enough and some of the wrapped up areas didnt get dye. Shirt still cmae out cute, but it didnt quite highlight the rubber banded areas the way we wanted. WE were less conservative with the color on the other shirts and they came out great. Id say the only hard part of doing multiple items on the same day is after microwaving they need to sit in the closed container ( you get two) for about 15 minutes. Just keep this in mind for planning purposes if youre planning on doing this as a group or have little ones with short attention spans. I think you could save the dye and use it again the next day, maybe even a few days later, but Im not quite sure how long it would last as we didnt try to save it and use it again. Id definitely buy this again.

I was able to tie die on a girls weekend trip. It was cold outside so we were unable to air dry in the sun. The shirts came out great. However, it should be noted that the container is like a take out foood container so scrunching a shirt inside could damage your pattern by mixing dye colors if they touch. It was difficult to fit some shirts in without ruining the design
