This product is listed as a #2 mailer that holds 8.5 x 11 inch sheets of paper. While most of my uses are not for documents, the couple of instances where I sent paperwork, this mailer would only hold a couple of sheets at this dimension and putting them in the mailer is tedious. The 8.5 x 12 inch stated dimension is deceiving since the actual inside space is only 8.5 x 11 inches barely. And the latter is shown on the packaging as others have noted. However, for the price of these mailers, I would buy them again. Just not for use in mailing documents of more than a few sheets. However, for use is shipping items that need bubble mailer protection, these are very good.
