Decent product I purchased for my last trip to Jordan. I gave it 3 stars for sturdiness just because the plastic holder and rod don’t feel as strong as they could be, but what can you expect when the product isn’t very expensive. Nonetheless, 5 stars everywhere else because it really saved my skin from the sun. The UV material really works which I was a little skeptical about and it is compact enough to not take up too much space in my backpack. I recommend this umbrella if you want something small and inexpensive that gets the job done!

Ive used this Sunbrella once a week for a little over a year. Up until today it has worked perfectly. Today, as usual, I used it twice, but when I tried to close it the second time (its got a convenient close button), it would not close completely. The rod will not compress all the way in. While that might be an inconvenience, the umbrella will also not stay open, and neither the open nor the close functions work. Im really sad because this umbrella was perfect as I walked back and forth across my church campus protected from the sun. I examined the ribs and nothing looks bent or broken, so Im assuming there is something wrong with the rod. I will have to look through my files to see if there is a warranty.

Great yo keep cooler in hot sun

This is a review based on initial out of the box observation, indoors, of the product I received and have not yet had the opportunity to test outside. Its a perfect size for one person (maybe two). Im 56 and weigh 120lbs. I didnt want anything too big because if at an outdoor social gathering, I dont want to run the risk of poking anyone standing nearby. The spines dont stick straight out but curve down slightly when the canopy is fully open. Mechanically it works as described (meaning the push button to full open position and to collapse the canopy) though it does take a little muscle to push it closed (to slide the stem back down into its base handle). The weight of the umbrella seems good too, not too heavy. Weight was a consideration when I bought it. I have shown it to friends who also like its size and the protection from the sun it offers. I love the color (Silver/Pink).

The umbrella kept me cool in 85 degree heat in full California sun! I highly recommend!

Great sun/rain umbrella! It is my second umbrella that I ordered within 1 week. The first product had great reviews but was useless, so, I was quite skeptical about this new order, that was even a bit cheaper. I can only say: this is a great quality product. Very robust, excellent grip, ergonomically good to hold. Auto-opening and closing, robust construction. The screen is sturdy quality, and looks nice, but still the umbrella is relatively light-weight. I hope to use it for a long time to come!

I was looking for a compact UV umbrella to replace one I bought abroad and loved but subsequently lost. This one is perfect. It is small, light, and could fit in a large front shorts pocket sticking out a bit. It is made for one person. So if you’re looking for an umbrella that covers more than just yourself, move on. I’ve used it daily for my walks in the islands and it is sturdy and provides UV shade from the sun, which cuts the heat you would feel without it. So at minimum it provides a couple degrees cooler temps under it, if not more. It is not for use in windy weather. It will flip inside out. So don’t plan on using it in windy locations/circumstances. One positive, though, when it flips inside out from wind or otherwise, you just press the open/close button and it collapses itself back to its “ready to close” position. This possibly takes the pressure off from needing to force flip it right side up over and over again, which is good. It would keep the rain off your head but that’s about it. But again, I bought it to keep me cool during my daily walks in hot sunny conditions. I use it on cloudy days as well, to keep the UV rays off me. In all, it’s perfect to use on sunny days for walks to cut the heat. It would help in a sudden downpour or steady light drizzle to keep your head dry. If you’re looking for an umbrella for the same reasons as me, this is the one. I will update my review if the umbrella breaks or deteriorates significantly.
