Our Invisible Fence stopped working, and after testing the loop circuitry on the transmitter, it did seem to be the wire. We went around the property (over an acre and a half) over lawn, through trees and brush (yuck) a couple times. We did find the trouble spot, and why it took a couple times was because the wire wasnt completely broken, just damaged and frayed (someone had done a really lousy patch job at one point) so there was still a weak signal going through but not enough to make the transmitter/collar work. The locater didnt go silent, but did dip way down in volume over that spot - noticable if you go very slowly. I would think if there was a clean break it would be way easier to find the spot. This did the trick though - worked as it should and saved us a fortune having the professionals come to find the problem.

Cant even accurately locate a wire above ground consistently. Absolute junk. Not even worth 1-star. Retiring asap.

We had a break in the invisible fence for our dogs and would have cost about $150.00 to have repaired. I went on line and purchased the wire locator and was able to find and repair the broken line. Saved us nearly $100.00.

Had a perimeter wire broken in 3 different places and this guy detected them all without issues.

Took a little time to figure it out but ended up narrowing down 3000 ft of wire to a ten foot section and found break. Did it in about an hour and a half.

This was well worth buying. I used it to find multiple breaks in my invisible dog fence. It doesn’t point you to the exact spot of the break, but the noise gets very weak and dies a couple of yards before the break. Good enough to help you find the line and then carefully dig along it until you find where it broke. I have 15 acres, and the signal got very weak the further along I went, but it almost made it half of the perimeter. Very pleased. I also liked that this model didn’t have the rechargeable battery. I hope I won’t need it again for a while, and a rechargeable battery could be useless after a couple of years with no charging.

It works as it should. Re time saver if you have 1 mile of wire to find a break

After 24 years of service our underground dog wire for electronic fence had to be replaced. There was one section underneath the driveway that had to be spliced, as it was blacktopped after the fence was put in. Initially we could not find it but with the help of this product we did. My husband said it was worth purchasing it for this alone. Im sure there are many other applications also.

I used this to find a break I had in my robot mower perimeter wire. It made the job quick ans easy. Less than 5 minutes to locate and repair the wire. Before I had to follow the wire around and look for where the wire was broken, sometimes difficult to locte.Now it is easy.
