I bought a used BCD325P2 handheld scanner, now I know why it was returned. Reception is sporadic and unit charges when it feels like it. I went ahead and ordered the brand new one. When it DOES work, Im pleased with it. I like to keep abreast of things going on in my neighborhood (had a shooting just the other night). My local police department just switched from analog to digital transmissions and my old scanner no longer picks them up. The unit itself seems to be well built with quality materials (I just happened to get the one bum unit). The battery life leaves much to be desired though.

It is a nice scanner, easy to program if using 3rd party software. Range in my area not as good as i thought it should, even with purchasing another antenna. Range drops when it is running of batteries.

Works perfectly. Controls are what they are, and they are ok, but not great. Unless you have a lot of spare time and patience, you are going to need to also buy software to program this, and likely a subscription to a scanner frequency database.

One of the most compact portable scanners on the market. Easy to program and easier to use. Great value for the money

This is a really awesome tool, very powerful. I do wish there was an option to power it from a USB cable for when Im in the car, as it goes through batteries at a good clip, but thats the trade-off for having so much power in such a portable form-factor I think.

This is a good scanner. Too bad it eats batteries. Maybe 4 hours of usage with one set. I use rechargables otherwise Ill be spending a fortune on batteries.

Omg programming this scanner is insanely difficult took me 30 days to figure this out finally got the scanner to work and its amazing scanner. Really needs to come with a step by step software would have made programming much easier I give this scanner a 5 star for overall quality and a 1 Star for programming and setting up the scanner

It was just what I expected, but I wished I had looked harder at whistler scanners. They dont have the alpha labeling like Uniden, but they are simpler to program, I think. I had the BC346XT before this, and the programming is the same.

GREAT scanner, once programmed. (Id recommend FreeScan ($0) and d/l freqs from Radio Reference.) My only complaint is the sound quality of this unit, however, it does have a very small speaker, so great sound quality cant be expected. Id highly recommend this unit. (I also have the Uniden BCD996P2)

Grade scanner because it gets lots of channels. You have to pay for the upgrade to get DMR. Its also difficult. To turn systems on and off you have to go through a series of menus.
