> 3 daySeems Vantrue R & D is listening to customer complaints/reviews and finally re designed these camera winshield mounts! :) These are great for the Vantrue N4 cameras. I have replaced all four of the suction cup style in my vehicles and they have stuck to the winshield like a champ; unlike the older suction cup style which can dry up, lose their suction and drop off with your camera attached after extended periods in hot weather. They are semi-permanent once installed so do not put them over any sort of winshield defrost copper lines or the dotted black areas etc as it will pull it right off the glass when youre trying to remove. Be sure and prep the surface with naptha(denatured alcohol) for good adhesion. Hope this review helps someone out! -Hiram

> 3 dayI do like this mount but should come with the camera rather than being a separate purchase. Some quirks though that I had to knock a star off for. First is it can be tricky to remove the dashcam from this mount. There is a release tab that should let it slide off but takes a lot of manipulation to get it to finally break free. Second may be related to the geometry of my vehicles windshield but the cable for the rear camera that plugs into the top of the camera is put into a stressed position due to the short distance between the camera and the glass. The cable has to make are hard 90° angle right after the plug because its come in contact with the windshield. While I like the stable mounting offered by using the adhesive strip, Id like to have a suction cup option as well. It could add just enough clearance to make up for the cable strain issue above while also making it possible to relocate the camera in those rare occasions its needed. I know thats a double edged sword since they tend to start legging go after time but having it as an extra options would be helpful.

06-06-2025The suction holder that came with the dash cam was not very good at staying on. So I got this with GPS. Only the dash cam stopped working after 1 week. On top of this breaking as well. Poor design.

> 3 daySo far have not had any issues with the adhesive pad sticking. Made sure to use alcohol to clean the window prior to sticking the mount to the window.

07-06-2025The reason I got this mount was because the power connection is on the side. Which allowed me to attach the mount to my windshield as far up to the headliner as I could (well, actually the rearview mirror) The standard mounts cable connection is on the top. So I would not be able to mount it flush with the bottom of the rearview mirror (2017 Highlander) Only problem is that its a real pain to remove the camera from the mount. If you want to take the camera out of the car. The design is not the greatest and you end up pulling the mount off the windshield. Other then that, it works fine

> 3 dayNo more suction cap surprises! This adhesive mount is by far the best option. Throw away your suction cap mount and get one of these. No more dashcam falling off windscreen in hot weather.

04-06-2025I love how small the GPS mount is! It fits nicely behind my rear view Mirror. I had the suction cup GPS mount, I prefer this one. I don’t move my dash cam often so this is great!

Greater than one weekObviously by the reviews, many people including myself prefer this mounting system compared to the suction cup method. The suction cup doesnt work well for my needs because the inside of the windshield of a 3rd generation Tacoma where the sweet spot for placing the mount behind the rear view mirror is not a smooth surface and will not work with a suction cup. I wish Vantrue would either have the adhesive mount as an option or just permanently replace the suction cup.
