> 3 dayIf you want GPS coordinates to appear with the time/date stamp for your recordings, then you must get this mount. But even if you dont, it is soooooo worth the price. The suction cup mount receives the power cable at the top, which may not be convenient, since you have to mount the camera lower. This mount receives the power cable on its right side, much better. Also, suction cup mounts tend to fall off when the cars interior reaches 90+ degrees F (which it will very quickly in the Summer, even here in New England) whereas this has 3M double sided tape, and it is a very powerful adhesive. It will not be removed easily and will put up a fight if you try to take it out. A razor blade and solvent help with that, and the mount does come with one extra adhesive pad in case you need to move the mount.

> 3 dayIt is a deceiving option of VanTrue. Supposedly, VanTrue can build the unit with GPS. However, it may extend the size of the unit which may prevent it to compete with other brands in terms of styling and compact ability. The one which I hate the most is it pushes the camera lower since we need the upper portion to stick this GPS module. Next issue is the port is only available on the right, while the wiring for back camera is on the left. It complicated the wiring angles. The area around the camera is now crowded with 2 USB-C Cables. Ideally, you should provide two ports for the GPS - one is on the left and one is on right. Next, you can slim down the size or at a minimum you can reduce the diameter of the adhesion area. Well, nothing is perfect. Overall, if I have to setup this camera again, I would omit this GPS module.

> 3 dayThe suction mount kept falling down over time. I got tired of reinstalling it so bought this one. This mount works much better than the supplied suction mount. Holds strong and does not fall off over time.

> 3 daySo much better than the old suction mounts! The only complaint is actually a compliment, I had to move the camera a bit because this mount is significantly smaller than the old suction mount, because mine is a permanent install, it meant moving some wires in the overhead to keep everything neat. Thank you for finally bringing this to market!

> 3 dayGot this camera for my car installed it. Looked pretty good on the right lower side of my rear view mirror. Then I wanted the app. That only works with the GPS so got that for an extra $30. Well the window mount it comes with has the cord on top and the rear camera on the left side. It worked out looking pretty good for a wire set up. But with the new GPS window mount they have it on the right side. Come on guys think about it. You have a wire coming out of both sides doesn’t make any sense to me. So now I have a camera that I paid over $300 for but it looks cheap as hell with wires coming out of both sides.

> 3 dayUSB-C on the side instead of the top in case you want it up higher. I placed mine on the side of the rear view mirror to avoid driving distraction.

> 3 daySeems Vantrue R & D is listening to customer complaints/reviews and finally re designed these camera winshield mounts! :) These are great for the Vantrue N4 cameras. I have replaced all four of the suction cup style in my vehicles and they have stuck to the winshield like a champ; unlike the older suction cup style which can dry up, lose their suction and drop off with your camera attached after extended periods in hot weather. They are semi-permanent once installed so do not put them over any sort of winshield defrost copper lines or the dotted black areas etc as it will pull it right off the glass when youre trying to remove. Be sure and prep the surface with naptha(denatured alcohol) for good adhesion. Hope this review helps someone out! -Hiram

> 3 dayI love this. So much better than the suction cup option. However, getting the dash am off is extremely difficult. The lever to remove it really needs to be bigger. It is so hard to reach it behind the cam, push that tiny level to remove the camera.

Greater than one weekI do like this mount but should come with the camera rather than being a separate purchase. Some quirks though that I had to knock a star off for. First is it can be tricky to remove the dashcam from this mount. There is a release tab that should let it slide off but takes a lot of manipulation to get it to finally break free. Second may be related to the geometry of my vehicles windshield but the cable for the rear camera that plugs into the top of the camera is put into a stressed position due to the short distance between the camera and the glass. The cable has to make are hard 90° angle right after the plug because its come in contact with the windshield. While I like the stable mounting offered by using the adhesive strip, Id like to have a suction cup option as well. It could add just enough clearance to make up for the cable strain issue above while also making it possible to relocate the camera in those rare occasions its needed. I know thats a double edged sword since they tend to start legging go after time but having it as an extra options would be helpful.
