> 3 dayThe speed read in mere swconds along with color tone alerts for ranges in temp. Finally, so impressed with a Vicks thermometer.

> 3 daySure yeah, seems like a great thermometer. Big numbers, useful colours, and a clear plastic protective case to keep it in. GREAT! BUT: whoever made the genius call to save a few $ by including a low battery: you should be fired. With all the work put into the great packaging, and solid product engineering (seems well made), it’s all for nothing when I turn it on the first time and it immediately reads “Lo.” I would have expected more from Vicks, but it seems the times are a changing. I guess it’s a price motivation. Sure it’s cheap, but with something like this it FEELS cheap. Do better, Vicks.

> 3 dayWe like this thermometer so much that when my husband broke the one wed had for years (pulled the metal tip off trying to clean it, definitely his fault not manufacturing), he insisted i find the exact same one and buy it. Never thought wed have strong feelings about a thermometer but here we are lol

> 3 dayIve tested myself with this and the more traditional model. Its just as accurate... but give the results in seconds instead of one to two minutes. Amazing product

> 3 dayThis Vicks SpeedRead thermometer is excellent. In my experience, it has been 100% accurate, reliable, readable and usable in the dark. ACCURACY: Compared to a professionally calibrated digital thermometer I use for work, this unit was consistently within .2 degrees of accuracy. When compared to several other types and brands of thermometers I have around the house, the Vicks SpeedRead was within .5F freedom degrees. USABILITY: Theres only one button. It is accurate for oral vitals on children who are awake and old enough not to squirm for 8 seconds. Kids can immediately tell if they have a fever by the color-coded readout. It is a good addition for a mobile first-aid kit as it comes with a rigid case and is somewhat durable. Youd better have long fingernails or a small flathead screwdriver to unlock it and pry off the back to change the battery (see photo). Dont forget to pick up probe covers, alcohol wipes and a spare CR1632 battery. CAVEAT EMPTOR: This thermometer uses a CR1632 battery NOT an LR44 as in the description! Before you open the packaging glance at the manufacturing date. Coin batteries last between 2-4 years in storage, and if its at the tail end of that span you may want to check pricing on the battery v. the price of the thermometer and decide if its more economical to send the thermometer back or buy a new battery. The thermometer I received had been manufactured less than 6 months prior.

> 3 dayWe use this at the vet clinic and our patients have to get their temperatures checked rectally. They aren’t the most patient, but this thermometer reads relatively quickly !
