Vitamix FoodCycler Replacement 2-Pack Filter, eight inches, Black

I ordered this item last 25th. I replaced it in the next day. Now the machine has strong smelling. I usually replace the filter in 4 months. I’m kind of disappointed for this order.

It is very hard to get these from the manufacture. I was very pleased to get them here

Replacing the 2 filters that are part of the Food Cycler significantly reduces the odors produced by the process though getting the Replace Filter light to go off is a work in progress. There also seems to be an improvement in the amount of time needed for the process with the new filters.

Keeps the stink from permeating the kitchen but I definitely do not replace as frequently as suggested. We are only two in our house so not running it more than once a week.

The Change Filter light was still ON even after changing the new filter.

Filters are filled with standard activated charcoal pellets. Twist or pry off the top carefully to keep from spreading pellets everywhere. Replace pellets with pellets sold in bulk on Amazon or wash pellets with detergent, rinse and dry in convection oven for fifteen minutes at 200 degrees fahrenheit. Otherwise discarding the plastic filter cylinders is counterproductive to the goal of recycling food waste and protecting the environment. If you dont want to reuse the pellets, put them in your compost bin or directly in your garden.

I always keep replacements so I don’t have to wait to change them when necessary.

I have yet to actually make it until the food cycler indicates a filter change before the smell starts seeping through these guys. Maybe lasts a month or 2.
