Rather than the expensive MacSales (OWA) Auto Pro X2, for my 2015 MacBook Air, I used the WD Black 1TB SN770 with a Sintech NGFF M.2 nVME SSD Adapter Card .

I use my PC for heavy software development and this is more than what I need in terms of performance. Its temperature rose only 2 degrees Celsius with heat sink installed when I back up the whole SSD to external hard disk. This is very good. The other Gen 3 SSD of recent model from a very popular Asian brand got 10 degrees hotter when I did the backup. Western Digital does know how to do the data storage right.

Used this to have a dedicated OS SSD, works great.
