> 3 dayI upgraded my Dell Inspiron 5480 from HDD to WD SN550 500GB M.2 NVMe drive. The results are mind-blowing - with HDD (Seagate, factory fitted) was terrible with boot times of upwards of 4 minutes. And with WD SN550, its less than 10 seconds! Incredible!!

> 3 dayThese are the guys I go to for long term storage. I have sampled other brands and wanted to test out Western Digital SSD. I noticed a definite increase in performance as far as how long it takes a solid state drive of this type compared to a normal SSD. This one reduces the response time of your system by about half from my estimates. Keep in mind this one is not primary drive but slaved for gaming :D. This one performs well and check back for my update once Call of Duty Cold War comes out.

> 3 dayEs una buena unidad de almacenamiento con un precio muy bueno. Nada que ver con las unidades baratas que dejan de funcionar a los dos días.

> 3 day1 star for switching parts without telling the consumers. “While the new SSD variant performs on-par with the old drive that WD actually sampled for review, once you exhaust the SLC NAND cache, performance craters from 610MB/s (as measured by THG) to 390MB/s (as measured by Expreview). The new drive offers just 64 percent of the performance of the old drive.“ (Western Digital Caught Bait-and-Switching Customers With Slow SSDs written by Joel Hruska)

05-06-2025Western Digital is my go-to brand for reliability when it comes to storage. The NVMe SSD is no different. It arrives securely packaged, its super-easy to install, and gives as-expected I/O speeds. I use this as my primary OS/install drive and my larger normal SSD for day-to-day storage, and the gaming experience I have is superb. Definitely recommend this if youre looking to upgrade.
