After the recent California storms eviscerated two cheap umbrellas in a single day, I ordered this British looking umbrella as a replacement. While I waited for it to arrive, the rain kept coming, and I kept getting soaked. It arrived today, right at a break in the rain.

good mans umbrella, but wood handle chips easily, do not lean the handle against anything that is coarse or it will scratch it up!

UPDATE: After about three years, it stopped holding itself closed. I just kept using it nonetheless, just wrapping the Velcro band around it to hold it closed. It still worked well when it was open...no complaints with that function. Im not sure - should I expect more than 3-4 years of flawless operation? Anyway Im debating whether to order another one.

If you want a hearty and sophisticated umbrella, this is a fabulous choice. Perfect, substantial handles and form. I bought them mainly because I wanted just nice, plain black umbrellas for my umbrella stands at the front and side doors of our home but these are super-lovely and moreover highly functional, just ordered another. Very pleased.

Ok I guess. For the price, I was expecting bigger and better quality. It seems like a regular 15 buck umbrella to me.

Exceeds my expectations. This is an awesome, well built umbrella and the wooden handle is beautiful.

If you need a good solid umbrella I highly recommend you pick this one up. The build quality is great and it is very large without being too big. You can tell by picking it up that it will last a long time and for me has worked great even in larger storms
