Cadmiums by definition are not sheer or translucent. They mix very well, the hues are excellent and they are versatile. Cadmium-free watercolor by WN is available. The hues are red, orange, and yellow. Matisse, Van Gogh, Monet, and others had cadmium on their palettes.
