> 24 hourInstruction manual is bad. Very difficult to read, especially for a beginner. Want to use as an out of band programmable scanner… no! I would recommend buyers purchase programming software to save time and reduced levels of frustration.

> 24 hourI really love this little radio!...it is VERY rugged (believe me, I have REALLY put it to the test) I have always been a Yaesu guy, and will always be...Great raidios at an affordable cost. Lots of features...like all radios, it can be hard to program by hand, so I recommend getting the programming software ( RT systems ADMS-65-USB) which makes it REALLY easy to do...battery charge lasts a couple of days after medium use, but get a long life spare battery...I highly recommend this little radio

> 24 hourGreat radio. So much so I bought one for each of my sons and they love it. Inspired them to get licensed. Also, I was doing a dumb thing with programming. Very frustrating. Good, excellent, patient and wonderful help from Rodger at Yaesu in CA. Great ham, great company.

> 24 hourGreat radio. This one reads made in Japan. This radio is easily programmed from the face. I find no need for programming software or cables. I’ve received glowing reports about the audio from local hams and the 1 watt speaker is clear with a balanced output not harsh or too weighted towards treble. Yaesu dominates my shack now.

> 24 hourAfter trying a number of different dual-band HTs with varying success and quality, I finally landed on this beauty of a transceiver and love it. While it may cost a bit more than some of its competitors, it has the heft and feel of a quality piece of engineering and it functions very well.

> 24 hourGreat transceiver. Simple, reliable, easy to operate. My go to ht. If it had Bluetooth, itd be perfect.

> 24 hourI have been using it for a few weeks now and I get good signal reports from other ham operators. I hit a repeater 30 miles away with it after I installed a dual band antenna on my truck. I can get 15 miles out with just the rubber antenna it comes with. Its also built well. It has metal on the inside of the battery compartment instead of plastic like most electronics nowadays. Its heavy. Im not afraid to break it, and it is water resistant. You get a lot for the little extra money you pay instead of getting a cheap Chinese version. Top notch!
