> 3 dayI have been using it for a few weeks now and I get good signal reports from other ham operators. I hit a repeater 30 miles away with it after I installed a dual band antenna on my truck. I can get 15 miles out with just the rubber antenna it comes with. Its also built well. It has metal on the inside of the battery compartment instead of plastic like most electronics nowadays. Its heavy. Im not afraid to break it, and it is water resistant. You get a lot for the little extra money you pay instead of getting a cheap Chinese version. Top notch!

> 3 dayThis radio has incomprehensible programing algorithms and very poor disply. Unless you are computer programmer dont buy it. On the positive note it is very well build and has no harmonics = clean signal

> 3 dayThis radio at first made me think it was a Baofeng in a new case. After about a week with it, I am really impressed and see big improvements over lets say, a UV82 or like. The display for example, is really easy to read with a nice large (and accurate) signal meter similar to the monoband Yaesu radios like the FT-270r. The speaker audio could be a little clearer at high levels but the overall tone and clarity of the audio at medium to lower levels is awesome. The scan is a bit slow but not terrible. The output power and TX audio is fine and delivering what it should. The RX receive is sensitive and has decent quality of adjacent noise rejection although the squelch is a bit too tight even on the lowest setting. Ohh and I cant forget about the amazing whip antenna that comes with the radio. This thing performs equally well on both bands and I really cant find an aftermarket antenna that performs any better! And thank you Yaesu for giving me a normal Motorola style belt clip! For the price, it really is a great radio and I find myself carrying it daily now and love it.

Disappointed buyer
> 3 dayUnfortunately, I did not get to review the product. The transceiver was without it’s rapid charger, AC adapter, belt clip mounting screws, warranty card, and the Operating Manual. The seller: Electorpedia Store, lacked the quality control to review the product before shipping it out. In addition, as evidenced by the product box, this may have been a returned product but without the operating necessities.

> 3 dayNice HT solid construction easy to use menus... It only comes with a condensed version of the manual. Need to download the full version “advanced user” manual from the Yaesu website to understand all the functions. The stock antenna is a solid performer. Radio seems very well built. Most problems are because it is such a new product in the Yaesu line. Not many accessories available yet, no CHIRP support yet as of 2/2018. No real YouTube tutorials yet. This is an awesome first radio for a new Tech or a nice glove-box rig for an experienced ham.
