It actually retains heat quite well. I thought I was going to need the heat shield immediately but it can wait. The hose is really durable and holds is place good!

This is clearly a sturdier hose than the original hose that came with my LG A/C. Its exactly as described.

Unfortunately, I ordered the wrong size. I gave it 3 stars for install because it wasnt clear if the hose was meant to click or screw in. The product seemed very durable and sturdy though.

This hose fit perfectly. Make sure you get the right diameter size hose!!! This one is 5.9 inch diameter, NOT 5 inch. It is much longer than the OEM exhaust hose. It allowed me to take the AC off of a box and place it on the floor where it belongs. There is still room to spare in the length. I did NOT measure the length, so take this as a GUESS only. I think it is 18 to 20 inches longer? The hose seems fine in terms of quality. Time will tell? This solved my problem. I wish LG would use this same length of hose from the factory. What would it cost? A few pennies? I spent over $400 for the unit. Seems kinda silly, except to the bean counters.
