Zoo Med ReptiSun 10.0 Mini Compact Fluorescent Lamp, 13 Watts

I was concerned that the bulb might get broken during shipment, but it arrived perfectly and was exactly like the one I had previously purchased from the pet store...except that the pet store one costs a lot more! I will definitely but this bulb again.

I usually buy the tube uvb lights,I buy these bulbs as backup. They work very well and inexpensive as uvb bulbs go. Well worth the money.

This is a review for The Zoo Med 10.0 Mini Compact. I am using this bulb as a source of UVB and UVA for a Russian tortoise. 10.0 Mini is Perfect for desert reptiles. It provides the UVB Output and UVA full spectrum output they require. UVB Lighting is essential for Russian Tortoises to process calcium in captivity. Without UVB lighting tortoises will develop serious health problems such as abnormal shell growth and deformities. UVB Lighting should be left on for 10-12 hours per day and turned off at night. I use a Mini Deep Dome Lamp Fixtures and was having a hard time find a suitable florescent that did not stick out of the bottom. The mini compact fits perfect and cannot be seen from the profile. The first day in use my tortoise appeared happy and active. I would recommend this product for any desert reptile.

This is by far my favorite brand of UVB lamp. You should replace them once a year, but this is the only brand that I have found that will even go a full year before burning out.
