I intend to do Link Aggregation to a managed switch from my X10 and wanted to have the router SFP+ port accept my internet data (WAN). I plugged in this module, plugged in the RJ45 cable from my ISP and I was up and running. This increased my internet response noticeably. I say again, this increased my internet response noticeably. Now I can link my router to a switch with aggregation and boost the whole house network a little. Very nice product. Packaging screams quality and it does not disappoint.

Used the 1gs for years and the 10gs work just as well, no issues in either unfi or qnap products of multiple lines. Is able do deliver 100/1000/2500/5000/10000mbps. Used with cat6, 6a and 7 cables both shielded and unshielded without issue. In some devices they can get exceedingly hot, this can cause stability issues, this seems to be more the device than the modules themselves.

I bought these for use in a UDM Pro, TrendNet 2.5G switch, and 2G fiber service. These will not negotiate with a 2.5G switch properly and will result in reduced 1G speeds. If you need 2.5G from the UDM Pro to a switch, I suggest the Microtik S+RJ10 as I can confirm they can achieve 2G properly.

This module worked perfectly with the Asus RT-AX89X router. Im getting a 10g link to my 10g network card.

I have an AT&T fiber Internet connection at 2Gbps connected as follows: AT&T modem 5Gbe -> CAT 6A -> 10Gtek module -> UDM SE SFP+ 10Gb port The AT&T modem shows negotiation at 5Gb, the UDM shows 10Gb. This 10Gtek SFP+ transceiver is appropriately negotiating it to 10Gb on the UDM side and 5Gb on the AT&T side. When I run a speed test from my UDM, the download is correct at near 2Gbps, but the upload is throttled to around 480Mbps through the 10Gtek. When I switch the AT&T modem to directly connect to a 2.5Gbe on the UDM, the upload speed jumped to over 2.2Gbps. So, for some reason this module is throttling down the upload speed. A quick Internet search will show that this is a known problem with the 10Gtek SFP+ modules. Edit: Seller replaced with the correct module that works at the lower speeds. This one only works at 10Gb on both sides of the link. Seller was very easy to work with and help me resolve the issue...so since this was not really a product problem, Im changing my rating.

Recently bought an HP Aruba 1930. The 80m transceiver worked partially. It would negotiate and send/receive data but the local-managed UI in Aruba would break — showing no port data for any port when this module was in an SFP+ port. If you run into this, you may want to try a different module coded for Aruba. 10GTek did say they updated the description, which is great. They don’t make an 80m Aruba module at this time.

Worked as advertised. Ive tested them up to ~750MB/s sustained with no issues, which is what I needed them for.

I got this to try out with some Catalyst switches and every single one of them reports from a show inventory that there is an unsupported transceiver in the port. I tried to override the nanny but 4 different model catalyst switches all refused to function. The same is true for the fiber GBIC modules. None of the 10gtek or other 3rd party fiber connectors work, ONLY genuine Cisco transceivers. Its not that big of a deal with the fiber though because those are less than 10 bucks used but the ethernet 10gig connectors are several hundred dollars. That said, this device works perfectly fine in the mikrotik 10g switches, an aruba 10g switch port and a ubiquiti 10g switch so it DOES have its uses, just dont expect it to work with a Catalyst.

Even at ~60m with CAT6A, 10G connection drops frequently (every 30 minutes or so, and stays down for about a minute). Tested with a Ubiquiti ES-16-XG and an iMac Pro 2017. Works fine for the duration it stays connected, though.

First these work great in ubiquiti switches at 10Gbe. I originally had a 10Gbe nic in my desktop but when I switched my gpu to a 4070ti, it wouldnt fit anymore so I switched to the on board 2.5Gbe. To my surprise it linked at 2.5 instead of 1Gbe like I thought it would. The switch of course shows its linked with the module at 10Gig.
