> 3 dayNo problems. Inexpensive replacement for coded SFP+ transceivers. Buying 10Gtech now whenever possible.

> 3 dayRecently bought an HP Aruba 1930. The 80m transceiver worked partially. It would negotiate and send/receive data but the local-managed UI in Aruba would break — showing no port data for any port when this module was in an SFP+ port. If you run into this, you may want to try a different module coded for Aruba. 10GTek did say they updated the description, which is great. They don’t make an 80m Aruba module at this time.

Greater than one weekI tried using this adapter to make a connection between a Ubiquiti 10G SFP+ port and an Ubiquiti 2.5G RJ-45 port and it it could not make a data connection. (I tried this with an Enterprise 8 POE and an Enterprise 24 POE, in both directions and no neither worked.) However a pair of these were able to create a 10G connection between the SFP+ ports on the two switches. Also, these modules get *extremely* hot — too hot to touch — when plugged in (even when the RJ-45 is empty). I’m worried that might not be good for my switch… EDIT: It appears this limitation is based on the Unifi devices (specifically, their 10G SFP+ ports cannot run at 2.5G) rather than this module.

> 3 dayI got this to try out with some Catalyst switches and every single one of them reports from a show inventory that there is an unsupported transceiver in the port. I tried to override the nanny but 4 different model catalyst switches all refused to function. The same is true for the fiber GBIC modules. None of the 10gtek or other 3rd party fiber connectors work, ONLY genuine Cisco transceivers. Its not that big of a deal with the fiber though because those are less than 10 bucks used but the ethernet 10gig connectors are several hundred dollars. That said, this device works perfectly fine in the mikrotik 10g switches, an aruba 10g switch port and a ubiquiti 10g switch so it DOES have its uses, just dont expect it to work with a Catalyst.

> 3 dayI have bought two of the 10g SFP with RJ-45 connections just about 5 months apart. I have no complaints about the use of them, they work as advertised. I noticed the packaging changed to a different color and design but all the information stayed the same. However if you are going to change the packaging you might want to correct the wrong information on it while you are at it. So in the chart it says interface is LC, these units are RJ-45 interface.

Greater than one weekI will find out in two weeks if this product really works with my FortiGate, but the FortiGate sees it as not certified.
