Where I live has a really old sink and pipes (50s maybe earlier). I could not find any of the current standard size baskets the fit perfectly (note: these dont fit perfectly either). What these baskets do excel at are catching the small and very small particles that often can back pipes up over time. For me thats a real plus and it solved a long running issue.
