This thing did not work right straight out of the box. The only reason it even got 2 stars is because I was able to use parts from this to fix my old one. The little piece inside with the hole in it that makes the whole thing function is so soft it dents in immediately and wont function.

I have a 35 yo starett brand. Sharp hardened point. These are dull. Will turn them on my grinder to a point for steel. Will dent aluminum and wood. Take apart and grease with silicone if having problems. Price point tells it all

Great idea - big plus it’s easy to see on your work bench & won’t roll off Only reason it didn’t get 5 stars It needs a more HD spring The dimple is to light your have to hit it repeatedly to get a good punch mark.

The spring isnt strong enough to hold up. Had to hit the same spot 6 or 7 times

Really needed TWO. (One for the Machine shop, ONE for Home). Seems like GOOD Quality- Had these in the Past- the ALWAYS Break, HOPEFULLY These will LAST !

This is a great solution for centering when you need to drill out something. Especially if your an automotive mechanic

Was using this to install metal roofing and found it didnt reset often - had to disassemble and reassemble to get it to work again. Not convenient when youre in a compromising position on a roof. Dont recommend.
