Setup didnt take long, though in todays relative lack of patience, it felt like kind of a long time. Maybe 2 minutes to get some of the lights to come on to the status at which you expect them to - power, wi-fi link, and device link just take a little while to finally come to their senses. Its probably 45 seconds, but it feels like a good 5 minutes while youre staring at the stupid thing, waiting for the next step.Plug it in near the router, wait for power light, hit the WPS buttons on this and my TrendNet router, wait for wi-fi link to show, move it closer to the dead/weak zone, plug in, wait for the wi-fi link to change to green, and youre good!Allegedly, the wi-fi link LED shows you how strong the signal is (red? move it closer to the router. orange? move it a little closer), but when I plugged mine in, it was orange for a while until it finally linked up and then it was green, and it has been working GREAT for me. Our router is about 2/3 of the way toward the back of the house, downstairs. I plugged this in, upstairs, about 1/3 of the way toward the back of the house. I was struggling to get halfway decent speeds from the front room upstairs before, but with this extender, its been smooth sailing.Have not yet noticed if my phone (Pixel XL) has been automatically switching between the original and extender, but I know that Ive manually pushed it to do so before.Regardless, it was an easy setup, I got it cheap on Prime Day ($25) and for that price I couldnt be happier with the results. Well be moving some rooms around in the coming months, which may move them further apart, testing the limits of the range, etc. Hopefully Ill remember to come back here and update.

I cant pretend to know a lot about technology but this did the trick for me! I have a router at the back of my house and just installed security cameras in both the front and back. The signal (without the extender) wasnt strong enough to connect the camera in the front of my house. Hence I ordered this little guy. Getting it up and running is super easy, it took me less than 5 min and it boosts the signal enough my camera in the from works perfectly now. Its small in size (about the size of 2 packs of cards put together) and has suited my need perfectly. I would definitely buy it again if it another need came up.If you need to boost your signal into other areas in your house I recommend this!

Before installing this wifi extender the X-Box in our garage could not get a good enough of a signal to stream YouTube Videos or even to connect to xbox live. Now, I can stream YouTube in my gym, without any buffering or delay. Does exactly what I needed it to.

This device is really easy to set up- my only problem was that I didnt remember any password on my router.The problem I had was the fault of our house, not of the extender. Really like it.

Works perfectly and as promised! Installation was smooth and easy as well. The quick sync off the router did not work but the install through a laptop went through perfectly. My coverage blind spots are now completely resolved. Most important,the device has been powered up for several months now and hasnt once lost the router connection. Great buy!!

Using it in the basement, router is on the other side of my house and upstairs. The device works good, amazing wifi signal to the Roku on the basement TV. I can now use my Kindle on the outside deck.

I didnt get wifi in one part of my house, with this I get a perfect signal! Works great! It was pretty easy to setup but I also read reviews before hand so it made it simple...It works some of the time. 90% of the time though it kicks me off the network every 5 minutes and I have to turn on and off the wifi feature on my devices, so it gets pretty annoying. Its nice when it works though. I would sincerely encourage another customer to look elsewhere if youre looking to buy a quality wifi repeater.
