    Lubricate my furnace motor

I bought this oil because it has the widest array of lubricating uses as far as I can tell. It is designed for electric motors, but since it is just oil with very few additives, it can be used for pretty much use. I use this to oil my regular door hinges, garage door hinges, and tools. A lot of people prefer white lithium grease for hinges, but I find that it makes a pretty big mess unless you disassemble each hinge. Note: When you snip the top of the spout open, snip as little as possible to leave as small of a hole as possible. I read this in another review, and I am glad I did. The oil comes out plenty fast enough even with a tiny hole.

Although it says on the can that its specially formulated for motors 1/4 HP and above, I also use this 3-in-1 oil to soak the felt wicking of sintered bronze bearings in even smaller fractional horsepower motors found in things like bath vent fans and dehumidifiers as part of their routine annual maintenance. Its basically the same 20-weight non-detergent motor oil that I buy in quarts at the auto parts store only in a smaller, easier to use can. In these lighter-duty applications, I find it works as well as paraffin based turbine oil where more extreme high speed motor and blower rpms are not an issue. This oil also comes in handy for general purpose lubrication of hinges and other moving parts, so I tend to use it often for those types of things as well. For my needs it seems to last longer and hold up better than the ordinary multi-purpose 3-in-1 oil, which is thinner and also has the strong 3-in-1 tell-tale odor.

It’s not been easy finding a non-detergent 20 wt. oil for lubricating small motor bushings and bearings. This is the only source of a small quantity I have found. The container is easier to squeeze than original metal container.

I used this product to oil my window fan, unfortunately i used the regular black 3 in 1 in it some years ago as it was really hot and i needed a fan, unfortunately i kind of forgot about it having detergent oil in it and used it for another 4 years, it was too far gone as it was making electrical burning smells after just reoiling the bearings with this proper oil, i dont blame 3 in 1, if anything the wrong product i chose of theirs helped, that fan lasted 4 more years and it was dead 4 years ago. I have other fans like my crofton tower fan and my honeywell turboforce fan i will not hesitate to continue to use this product on!

This is a handy bottle to have by the crosscut shredder to keep it lubricated to handle thicknesses of paper, as well as credit cards and CD/DVDs of data to be destroyed. Read you shredder instructions for its maintenance advice. For us, this fits the bill and wasnt too expensive. You may find it more cheaply in a local hardware store. Check there first.

Not sure how much I can write about a little bottle of oil but I purchased this after trying a similar product (as a proof of concept) from a different brand on an old, WELL used but still in great condition Honeywell HT 800 fan. I have already tried this oil after the same issues with the fan cropped up. The motor was trying, BUT itd either go slower than it should have been going OR it was not spinning at all. Its a tad dusty I admit but nothing wrapped around the shaft. It was (best way to say it but may not be the perfect adjective) getting sticky to a point ... just ... like tacky or something .... I cleaned everything off and around various point that hold the shaft in (and especially around where the shaft and the motor come together at the back of the fan, I put a good amount of oil there and as I am typing this ... My Honeywell on LOW is how it was spinning on HIGH before this fix ... I may have to do this every so often but as far as I am concerned ... this oil made my fan good as new. I do agree with others, that clipping the top at the very top most part that you can, makes this a piece of cake to control the flow ... too low and in some use-cases, you will have oil everywhere ... the nozzle makes putting the oil in tight spots, RIGHT WHERE YOU NEED IT, easy. For various little projects, I can totally see myself buying this again. I used it on a fan to make it new again, but I could see this being great for simple stuff like say squeeky cabinet doors that you just live with ... not sure itd work but getting a little bottle of this and trying it out on various things may be worth it

Purchased this oil to overhaul a vintage Sturmey Archer 3 speed hub I was rebuilding. Did some internet searching to find the proper oil to lube the hub with after disassembly and cleaning. This brand of 20w motor oil was recommended. Another reviewer of this product mentioned using this oil on the SA hub. Was not disappointed with the results. In addition to greasing the ball bearings (loose and in retainers), this oil was added to the internal parts before reassembly. So far no complaints with the hub. Will add this oil periodically to maintain the hub. I have also used this oil on my 30 year old sewing machine with excellent results. For anyone 3 in 1 oil it is important to purchase the motor oil for such applications as the Sturmey Archer hub.
