> 3 dayGreat value for my money better prices than I have found in retail stores. I needed several for my family with memories of my mom, I would definitely buy them again.

> 3 dayI produce a program for a community radio station and turn in my show each week to the station manager. He prefers it in raw data form rather than on a CD. SD memory cards and USB thumb drives do get lost or broken and sometimes just quit working for unknown reasons. I needed a good supply of memory devices. I decided to try a 10-pack of Pnstaw 16GB thumb drives. The price was right, less than $4 per drive. And I dont have to worry about losing the protective end caps, since these have an attached metal shield that just swivels out of the way for connection to my computer. Theyre attractive, with the drive bodies coming in 10 different colors. In the short time Ive been using mine, they have functioned perfectly both reading and writing data. You can tell they are receiving power because they light up internally when connected to a working port. The drives arrived in a foam-padded cardboard case where I keep the ones Im not using. Now I have plenty of memory on hand.

Greater than one weekOne dead out of the box. Tried on both Windows and Mac based computers. These act really quirky on a Mac, sometimes connecting sometimes not, connecting then disconnecting with an error about improper removal of USB drive. Tried reformatting, better results with these on a PC based machine.

Greater than one weekOut of the box (of 10) , these flash drives were formatted exFAT. I reformatted to NTFS and tested writing a group of files totaling 120MB and the time spent is 12+min! Painfully long for 120MB that takes under 40sec with a Sandisk Cruzer Glide 64MB formatted NTSF using the same PC. I retested with other flash drives from the box and reformatted NTSF and the result is the same! I subsequently initiated a return that is promptly handled thru the Amazon website. I was packing the flash drives for return today and suddenly Bulb! Maybe the flash drive controller cannot handle the NTSF file system? Correct! If you keep the exFat format these drives came with then transferring the 120MB group of files above is under 45sec which is practically OK. Also reformatting to FAT32 would yield a similar writing time under 45sec. I have not use these drives long enough to report their reliability, but surface testing with utilitie like Minitool Partition Wizard reported No Error. You may surface test in Windows Command Prompt Administrator with command CHKDSK /X /F /R, that I also did and it returned no error. In summary these drives work well with exFAT and FAT32 format but stay away from NTSF format.

> 3 dayCorrection: After testing the USB is 32GB formatted using FAT32, which gives an Insufficient Disk Space error message if the file to copy is over 4GB. After reformatting the USB drive to NTFS I was able to copy a 5GB file onto the drive.

> 3 dayI bought these to send a few GB of pictures to relatives for ancestry purposes. When I plugged in the first one to my Mac, the light came on the back of the USB drive and I started the copy process. Before any files made it on, my Mac locked up and then rebooted. After booting up again, with the crazy complicated error window description, I initiated the copy process again and it worked fine. Some of the other open windows/apps at the time completely lost work in progress, though. The EXACT same thing happened on the second one. I was smart enough to close all my other work prior to the copying process. The 3rd one copied about 3X as long to copy, but did not hang and reboot. The 4th copied blazing fast, relatively - kinda what I expected to begin with. The 5th was crazy SLOW, taking about 15 min for 2GB, where the regular ones took about 5 min, and the one that took about 1 min. I have plugged each one back in and the files are all present and will open, so Im hoping they work after mailing to family. I will probably never buy an off brand again, and would definitley not use these for any kind of archiving.

> 3 daySo I used a couple of these for a solid year not really any complaints. I use them as boot media mostly, recently I opened one and it had a strange foreign name to the drive I didnt recognize, didnt look English. Thats where the problems start, half of the drives do not work, period. Its sad it took me a year to discover this. PC cant find them, they make themselves read only and can no longer use or them simply fail. Made one a windows recovery drive, except when I tried to use it, it failed midway and I lost everything. I would not buy these.

Greater than one weekI purchased these just to keep as backups for the rare occasion I need to sneaker net a file some where. The first I was used seemed fine but later had read problems - I didnt think much of it, until I tried to use the others. The first I think I with a new drive is format it, if its needed or not (old habit) these drive light up when first plugged in (no problem) but never stop, not data on the drive, or being copied to the drive - just idle it looks like its transferring data like crazy (disk utility apps cannot unmount the drive, preventing reformatting or erasing - sort of freaks me out that the transfer indicator goes nuts for no reason. Dont trust.
