3M Multi-Use Colored Duct Tape, Black with Strong Adhesive and Water-Resistant Backing, Multi-Surface Tape for Indoor and Outdoor, 1.88 Inches x 20 Yards, 1 Roll

I ruined my car’s side mirror and needed a temporary fix and so I was looking for a black duct tape to match my car’s paint. This tape does not tear clean. There are white strips showing which stands out because the tape is black. Adhesive is okay. It starts peeling up after a few days.

I expected a 3M product to be terrific which is why I bought this brand of duct tape. But it didnt stick to the plastic item I needed it to. So although it tears very nicely by hand it doesnt serve the main purpose I bought it for. I consider this purchase a waste of money.

I think 3M is a quality product and is probably the best brand for duct tape. That being said, I was hoping to use this in the inside of my black leather boots where the man made leather is peeling. Unfortunately the tape wouldn’t stick to the material under the peal. So essentially it stuck to the peeling top later but didn’t stick to the layer underneath. Therefore it didn’t do what I was hoping it would do. I wonder if the traditional silver duct tape may have worked better than this black one.

Smaller than expected but that could be to my negligence of reading and understanding the description. Easier to buy in store than online IMO

It doesnt stick very well. Not flexible. Ive used 3M products for ages and I was not satisfied with this.

Some of the reviews complained that this tape would only stick to itself and that it was really thin and that the quality was poor especially for a 3M product. I found none of these issues. The thickness was fine, although it isnt super thick like duct tape, but it isnt advertised as such. The adhesive is good. Someone also said the black dye rubs off, I didnt find that either. It is very shiny and looks great! My only minor complaint is that it seems to scuff easily. I am using it to create a finished looking edge and wanted it to be flawlessly black.

Thought 3M tape would be as good as Duck Tape. Doesnt stick worth a darn. Wont waste my money next time.

It’s too weak, doesn’t hold even tiny iPhone charger cable to the wall. It’s a crap.
