These work great for getting a mirror polish on a knifes edge

For sharpening my knives, I use a wet stone and a leather strop. I was content with the results but I knew I could get them sharper. Watched a video and thats what got me interested in these. Using these to get that final polish on my knives has made a huge difference.

I bought these to see how well they could do for getting a mirror edge on my Spyderco knives with my KME. So far not bad, I cut strips to fit on my glass slides like my diamond tape and so far so good. While not as good as my diamond tape, for the price its very good. I would buy them again.

The adhesive backing on these super fine abrasive sheets allow you to attach the to a smooth rigid surface.

I cut them down and stick them on the ceramic piece in the kit. When done I stick them to a plastic sheet and get several used out of each one. You can put a razor sharp mirror edge on your knife.

I got this along with a piece of glass because I’ve been trying to hone my straight razors. I have a slew of shapton stones, norton, naniwa, chromium oxide to apply to my strops, and I’ve never been able to get a razor to the point I liked it. That was until I tried this stuff. I kept the backing on and just put it on top of a wet piece of paper on top of the glass and it was amazing. The edge that I got was extremely clean, even when looking at it under magnification. I’m not saying that these are better than stones, but they are much cheaper of an initial investment and for someone new can give you a very good result. I was ready to give up on honing myself but this has rejuvenated my enthusiasm. I’m excited to learn more and continue in this adventure now.

Used this with the worksharp sharpener. Used it then threw a slit of that light green paper on it and in no time was able to slide hairs right off my arm, would definately recommend. Since the light green is one of the smaller grits this means i can go sharper, but this is great for what i need.

Like many woodworkers, Ive spent a lot of time and effort in finding the most convenient, but effective, method to sharpen our chisels and plane irons. I could start a second hand store with all the products Ive tried but dont use due to one issue or another. Lately Ive used wet/dry sandpaper on marble slab with excellent success. My tools come out extremely sharp and the process to touch them up is reasonable. The only real issue is the expense of changing the paper so often. In steps the Taylor Tools answer to the scary sharp method using 3M lapping film. The advantage to sandpaper is two fold. First, the film provides longevity that paper backed products can only dream of ... secondly, the finer films take my tools to a whole new level of sharp. What a pleasure it is to use my tools again. I havent counted just how many chisels and irons Ive sharpened with any given set, but I can tell you that for me its been significant. I have five stages mounted to a 12x24 marble plate to create and maintain my micro bevels. It takes a mere couple of minutes to touch tools back up once you have a good primary bevel established. This is my current soup du jour of sharpening and Im going to be quite satisfied with it for a long time to come.
