> 24 hourI got this along with a piece of glass because I’ve been trying to hone my straight razors. I have a slew of shapton stones, norton, naniwa, chromium oxide to apply to my strops, and I’ve never been able to get a razor to the point I liked it. That was until I tried this stuff. I kept the backing on and just put it on top of a wet piece of paper on top of the glass and it was amazing. The edge that I got was extremely clean, even when looking at it under magnification. I’m not saying that these are better than stones, but they are much cheaper of an initial investment and for someone new can give you a very good result. I was ready to give up on honing myself but this has rejuvenated my enthusiasm. I’m excited to learn more and continue in this adventure now.

> 24 hourI collect and (try to) restore old vintage Western of Boulder Colorado knives which have carbon steel blades that tarnish, patina and pit if not properly cared for. I use these to - by hand - polish out the imperfections and bring the blades back to a luster. Not always a mirror perfect finish based on the starting point condition, but these do a pretty good job. Its hard work but keeps me sitting at my bench for hours and off eBay for a while! I dont stick these to glass or adhere them to anything. I cut small patches and use my fingers to polish with.

> 24 hourLove 3m products. I use small chisels on a daily basis and these true up an edge really well really quickly! Must have in addition to your glass or stone.

> 24 hourI ordered these thinking they were adhesive backed and was disappointed when they weren’t but after giving them a try they do an excellent job at sharpening and putting a nice near mirror finish on any metal. And with a bit of stropping with polishing compound I was able to easily shave the hair off my arm

> 24 hourUsed this with the worksharp sharpener. Used it then threw a slit of that light green paper on it and in no time was able to slide hairs right off my arm, would definately recommend. Since the light green is one of the smaller grits this means i can go sharper, but this is great for what i need.

> 24 hourOnly went 4 grits in and then accidentally cut off a little translucent layer of skin with the chisel. That was good enough for me to stop there lol. Also careful doing sharpening by hand. If you use your finger to feel for the bevel and it touches this stuff youll burnish you skin before you know it!
