4 Film Favorites: Dirty Harry Collection (4FF)

Whats not to love about Dirty Harry? Go ahead, make my day. A mans gotta know his limitations. The 44 magnum speech ending with do you feel lucky punk? The special features on these discs were quite enlightening. Speaking with an older Eastwood about some of the criticism that surrounded the movies when they came out, of which I was totally unaware. I was like Dirty Harry, just wanted to see the criminals get what they deserved.

I originally saw these films as they were released at my neighborhood cinema. You know, the place with the stage and rock and roll bands on Saturday afternoons!Each of the films were crystal clear with beautiful sound mixing and clarity. I have seen all of these films multiple times over the years but had forgotten parts that are edited for airing on television. Perhaps one of the most nerve-wracking scenes is where Harry is torturing the murderer on the football field and the perp screams I want a a Laaawyer! This was an excellent purchase. For the Dirty Harry fan, ya just cant beat it!

So far, Im really pleased with this box set. I mean you could pay more and have them packaged better, but theyre the best four of the Dirty Harry movies. If you havent seen these four Dirty Harry movies, youre missing the best film series of the seventies. As for The Dead Pool, which isnt included in this box set, I dont mind if I dont see that one: Liam Neeson and Jim Carrey spoiled that movie for me, with over the top acting. Overall this was a great DVD set.

I keep trying but only once could I play one of them all the way through without it stopping

First of all, the movies are packaged together on one spindle in the case. It seems to me thats a problem waiting to happen when it comes to scratches and scratching. Second, the transfers are great. Video looks good and audio is fine. Subtitles are available and work perfectly in tandem witj the audio. If it hadnt been for the less than stellar packaging, this would be a perfect set.
