This was a gift for myself, but would be a great gift to give, too. The compartments within the keeper are tight and will hold floss well. The kit comes with a ton of colors that are marked and organized nicely. There are a few notions that are in the top that are available right when needed. Each level of the keeper snaps to the next layer. They snap very tightly and will probable become easier to snap over time. Great little set. This was exactly what I was looking for when I picked up cross stitching again. It keeps everything organized and in one place, it has all the tools you’ll need, and there’s plenty of variety in colors to do basic projects. The only problem I have with it is that the spools of thread cannot be stored upright. I would like to be able to see the numbers on them at a glance, but if you stack them with the numbers on top, they’re too tall to shut the case all the way! Besides that, it’s a great place to start for cross stitching/embroidery. You might still need to buy a few extra colors if you’re looking to do something specific, but I’ve found close enough matches in this kit for everything I’ve worked on so far.

The case is compact, but that makes me happy because I have a very small space. This is chock-a-block full of thread, a set of needles, a needle threader, pin cushion, safety pins, thimble, scissors, measure tape, etc. The thread is vibrant and on bobbins! Thank goodness. I plan on using this for my small weaving projects and am very pleased overall with this purchase. I would definitely recommend to a friend.
