I am very impressed with the quality of the screen. Skin tones are wonderful Color is clear and crisp. I am very happy with the light up keyboard. Speed is so much faster than my old computer. I upgraded to Windows 11 and like it so far. I do a lot of viewing video casts and it is very nice for that.

I bought the equipment very recently, I uncapped it to fit an extra SATA SSD and I find that it does not have the slot to put the bus. What I can do? Ref: A515-44-R93G. Otherwise the equipment is excellent, fast, light, good design. Just for the detail of the SATA I give it 3 stars.

I wish I could leave a good review as this is a really nice laptop for the price. The screen is clear and plenty bright. Its super fast to boot in to windows and load programs due to the m.2 ssd. But when I went to install a 2.5 inch ssd I ordered with the laptop I found that the connector the sata cable plugs in to on the motherboard is completely missing. You can see in the pic under the wifi card the contacts where the connector was supposed to be soldered. I tried to explain the issue to Acers tech support but they didnt understand the issue, only offering to send me the bracket that holds the ssd. This is quite a bummer because the whole reason I got this particular laptop is because the ram and storage were upgradable. Now Im stuck with 120gb of storage unless I want to switch to a larger m.2 and then have to re install windows and all of my programs.

I originally found this when it was around $350, now its over $400. The model I received has 4GB RAM soldered on the motherboard with the ability to go to 32GB, but obviously with the soldered RAM, the highest I could get it to was 20GB, for an additional $60.

As a tech support specialist at our school, Ive ordered over 10 plus Aspire 5s in the last few years for both school and home users and the Aspire 5 has always been a solid, stable performer. Good, commonsense configurations combined with great pricing, make this Acer model perfect for general home & school usage. I always like to add 8GB-16GB memory to help with multi-tasking and multiple browser tabs, but the onboard memory usually suffices for most users.

I bought it thinking that I would have to buy an HDD enclosure because of the comments I had read, where it said it did not come with the connector on the motherboard. I opened it just to verify this and was very surprised to see that it did come with this connector, so I was able to increase the internal storage. I assumed that in the new equipment the lack of the connector is corrected. I highly recommend this computer, it has a good processor and this type of SSD gives it a lot of speed. Im just waiting for a Ram that I bought to improve it, and that is the only annoyance I have, the 4gb of base ram that it brings are soldered to the board, so there is only one slot available to increase it.

It is light in weight, thin & has a good camera. I purchased this notebook for my mother & it does exactly what she needs it to do. It was inexpensive & the OS (Windows 10S) makes it difficult to download any software unless it is done via the Microsoft Store. All she needs to do is web browse & use the Office Programs. I shared my Office package with her so she should be just fine.
