It is light in weight, thin & has a good camera. I purchased this notebook for my mother & it does exactly what she needs it to do. It was inexpensive & the OS (Windows 10S) makes it difficult to download any software unless it is done via the Microsoft Store. All she needs to do is web browse & use the Office Programs. I shared my Office package with her so she should be just fine.

This laptop comes with an upgrade kit for an additional hard drive but the motherboard has no hard drive connector. Cheap pos don’t buy only 128gb non upgradable.

I originally found this when it was around $350, now its over $400. The model I received has 4GB RAM soldered on the motherboard with the ability to go to 32GB, but obviously with the soldered RAM, the highest I could get it to was 20GB, for an additional $60.

I owned and enjoyed my previous Acer Aspire for the past 10 years and decided it was time for me to buy a new one. I AM SO HAPPY WITH MY NEW Acer Aspire 5 A515-45-R1YC Slim Laptop | 15.6 Full HD IPS | AMD Ryzen 5 5500U Hexa-Core. Its fast and easy to work with, even for an 83-year-old woman.

I bought this because the program I wanted couldnt be installed on my old computer so the moment I received my new computer, it just did it on its own. I didnt have to do much more. I like my new computer.

was happy to get the laptop, but it turn to sadness very quickly, the company included the kit to install the extra hard drive but they forget to make a sata slot in the mother board.

The one I bought was from Amazon when they had it for $599, which at that time this computer was a steal. Its really rapid in terms of processing etc. The fan(Acer Brand) came on rarely, although I only had it for like 2 weeks. One thing I really loved about this computer is that its wireless card for Wifi/Bluetooth connectivity is 100% solid. And also unlike other computers that ive purchased in the same year, its extremely easy to add on different devices such as printers, or to broadcast to TV or to even add drivers. Never had such ease with any device in terms of connectivity as with this one. Being that its a 5500u, the U denotes low power version of the chip. The only area I find scary, because of a thing called CPU frequency scaling is when the chip is scaled to maximum frequency, which the housing may not be designed for. Personally I went for an H series chip, more power, and for me means housing built to take heavy loads. Its like having a V6 Camry, but driving like somebodys grandma, if you have no accidents the product is going to last alot longer. Also if you need the power, its there.

Had this laptop for about a month. It boots up very fast and runs my basic programs well. It only has 4GB RAM and I havent got around to upgrading it because I dont do gaming or watch videos. I have never used an AMD machine before, but the Ryzen 3 4300U is fast, quiet and efficient. Should have bought an AMD laptop or desktop much sooner.

Dont let other reviews lie. This is a great machine. It has a fantastic CPU and Video card.
