> 24 hourI wanted this Aicevoos DS2 3-Wire 120V Outlet Tester because I had an APC (American Power Conversion) home surge protector showing a red light for a building wiring fault. I did some searches and found some information that some of these units have been known to show false positives for wiring faults. I moved the surge protector to a different outlet that wasn’t causing the red light. When I received this Aicevoos DS2 3-Wire 120V Outlet Tester, I tested the ‘offending’ outlet, and it showed as CORRECT. I proceeded to test the rest of the outlets in my home. Most came up as CORRECT, but an unused one came up as LIVE NEUTRAL REVERSE for both sockets. And a heavily-used one came up as MISSING GROUND for both sockets. I immediately unplugged the heavily-used cords, and won’t use that outlet until my electrician addresses the issues. I didn’t try any other functions on this tester, just used it by plugging it into sockets. Testing took a second or two on each plug, and then the ‘plain english’ output in all-caps. I’m really glad I ordered this tester. An electrician found and resolved a serious issue with an outlet in my finished basement a few years after I moved in. It will be good to get these others taken care of. I’ve assisted an electrician relative on wiring an addition to his home, not doing any of the real electrical work, but observing. I’m not an expert, so this Aicevoos DS2 3-Wire 120V Outlet Tester was perfect for me. I’ll also have my electrician check out the outlet that threw an error on my surge protector, but checked out CORRECT with this tester. This outlet tester seemed to work well, and I have no reason not to recommend it.

> 24 hourFirst time using it the bottom plug pulled out. I would’ve put a lot of use to this being a maintenance supervisor and having to work on 70 houses. I will not buy this item or brand again, I’ll be sticking with Klein Tools for my maintenance department.

> 24 hourI plugged it in, showed no ground, Im thinking WTF I know this is a good plug. I pull it out and the ground prong is still in the receptacle. Literally broke on its first use.

> 24 hourThe meter is about 2 vac off and the hz reading always shows a steady 60hz even on a generator that was running at 64hz.

> 24 hourThis outlet tester is super simple, has a great digital display that is easy to read and its pretty compact for what it can do! Just plug it in and it will tell you if its correct or not, and the amount of voltage that is coming your way. Doesnt get any easier than that!

> 24 hourThis unit works so well and simply that even those of us who lack any understanding of electrical circuits can troubleshoot an outlet. Plug it in and watch it work. It is sophisticated enough to diagnose that my smart outlet expander is lacking a ground, despite it having a ground lug. I used it immediately to determine that my wife had turned off a light switch to a series of outdoor outlets, despite her protestations to the contrary. It was very nice to have an expert on my side.

> 24 hourIt doesnt get any easier then this, its basically idiot proof, the proverbial plug and play. Ordered this because when I run to circuit braker the misses knows right away that the outlet is working instead of her having to plug in leads and test for voltage.

> 24 hourThis is exactly what I needed. I am an electrician and I was looking for an easy plug tester that showed not only if the wiring was correct, but what the actual voltage is at the outlet. It is great and does exactly what it says. Definitely recommend this for the professional as well as anyone looking too check the outlets in their own home.
