> 3 dayThis tester has a nice solid feel to it. A little bit on the bulky side but still fits on most outlets without too much getting in the way. Unlike others Ive seen, this one is does not require batteries and powers up using the outlet its testing. With that said, there are no fancy functions. It simply displays 1 of 6 preset messages describing how your outlet is wired or what wire is missing, along with measured voltage and frequency. The RCD button is for testing GFI outlets tripping function. Other than that it does nothing.

22-11-2024I run a bunch of 3D printers and recently had blown several fuses - I needed to be sure that my power strip and socket was not the issue as the expensive cost of having under voltage or a loss of ground was not something that I wanted to risk - this one is incredibly easy to use - multiple error detection codes that can detect several different faults even button to ensure leak detection receptacles are working properly - hands down the easiest way to check your sockets at home for faults and correct voltage! 10/10 recommend this one for any DIY home owner!

> 3 dayThis outlet tester is super simple, has a great digital display that is easy to read and its pretty compact for what it can do! Just plug it in and it will tell you if its correct or not, and the amount of voltage that is coming your way. Doesnt get any easier than that!

> 3 dayI like that this unit will diagnose the fault in the circuit. I also like that it will cause a fault in the circuit to test the protection of the circuit. If I never encounter a problem that is diagnosed, this is a good thing! Reading the screen cannot be much easier too! I LOVE THIS UNIT! This unit covers much of what I would do manually. I have done a lot of wiring in my house as well as others and formerly in my business too. I have always elected to use my multi-meter so that I could ensure good connections (checking voltage after knowing the supply into the premises). I would check between all three connections as well as the chassis (box), especially if using conduit or metallic shielding. Using this unit makes it easier to get past the shields in the better duplex receptacles (wall plugs) and it gives me all the readings I would use. I do recommend this unit especially since it is CE certified as well!

> 3 dayThe meter is about 2 vac off and the hz reading always shows a steady 60hz even on a generator that was running at 64hz.

Greater than one weekThis thing works great and is so easy to read. It’s just slightly difficult to store. I wish the plug folded into the main unit, rather than remaining rigid - it would just make it that much easier to store. Other than that one thing, this thing is so much easier than the old “decode the 3 lights to see what state your outlet is in” reader it replaced.

> 3 dayThis tester is quick and easy to use. It will alert you to wiring issues and/or inconsistencies. There are other devices that perform a similar function with the use of LED lights, but that this one has both LED lights and an LCD screen is what sets it apart from the others. Additionally having a GFCI trip button to ensure your GFCI outlets are wired properly is handy, most, but not all testers have that feature. What I like: 1. I found the easy to read LCD screen useful. 2. The GFCI trip button is a nice feature. Drawbacks: 1. It is larger than a typical tester that has no LCD screen, but for me thats not a deal breaker. Bottom line: Unless I need to test in a really tight spot, this is my new go-to tester!

> 3 dayThis is a great tester to throw into your electrical tool box. It is small and easy to use, and doesnt even require any batteries. Simply plug this into a standard 120V outlet and it will, within about 3 seconds, tell you in plain english, if the wiring is correct, and the voltage and frequency of the AC. If there is a problem the tester will tell you in words what the issue is, without having to interpret a set of lights. Additionally, you can press the leakage test button to trip (test) a ground fault detector if there is one in the circuit. This will handle up to 250V so if your socket somehow has 240V instead of 120V on it, you wont blow up the tester. PROS: * Small and lightweight * Good build quality * Extremely easy to use CONS: * Consumer quality, not a professional quality product.
