Always had a problem with electronics sparking when plugged in, turns out 3 outlets were wired wrong. This thing told me what was wrong and I re-wired them myself. No more problems.

This unit works so well and simply that even those of us who lack any understanding of electrical circuits can troubleshoot an outlet. Plug it in and watch it work. It is sophisticated enough to diagnose that my smart outlet expander is lacking a ground, despite it having a ground lug. I used it immediately to determine that my wife had turned off a light switch to a series of outdoor outlets, despite her protestations to the contrary. It was very nice to have an expert on my side.

Used this recently while I was setting up some new outlets and have used it helping some friends with electrical work. It is a great way to double-check if you are doing everything correctly. Super easy to use and understand so even someone doing a DIY outlet repair or just checking through your house outlets for any faults. I wish the screen was at a bit of an angle because especially on outlets lower to the ground the viewing angles of the lcd are not great, just angeling the screen up a bit might have helped. Overall a pretty good device that I am happy with.

This review is for Aicevoos D2S Receptacle Tester (ASIN: B09WV34N3F). I own other testers that only test wiring, but I like that this also shows the voltage and frequency. There isn’t too much to say here, other than this tester works very well. It’s also easy to read, and it has become my new favorite outlet tester.

This Receptacle Tester is literally IDIOT PROOF... All you have to do is just plug it in and within seconds you get an accurate digital readout. Its great for DIYers as well as the Professionals. I highly recommend this product for everyone.

This is a good product if you want to test outlets t make sure they are performing correctly. As you can see in the pictures it small and compact. You simply plug it into the outlet and it will show testing. Once it is done testing it will inform you of weather your outlet is working correctly and the voltage. Over all this is a good product. The only down fall is if you outlet has no power it will not work. I would recommend this cost effective solution for testing your outlets.

This thing works great and is so easy to read. It’s just slightly difficult to store. I wish the plug folded into the main unit, rather than remaining rigid - it would just make it that much easier to store. Other than that one thing, this thing is so much easier than the old “decode the 3 lights to see what state your outlet is in” reader it replaced.

I have plenty of experience with electrical systems and own many different types of testers like this. What sets this one apart is that is provides plain-language messages about problems. This is ideal for the average homeowner who may have no knowledge of wiring. It tells you exactly what the problem is, in words, making it easy to fix the problem. It works very well, and I would recommend it.

I wanted this Aicevoos DS2 3-Wire 120V Outlet Tester because I had an APC (American Power Conversion) home surge protector showing a red light for a building wiring fault. I did some searches and found some information that some of these units have been known to show false positives for wiring faults. I moved the surge protector to a different outlet that wasn’t causing the red light. When I received this Aicevoos DS2 3-Wire 120V Outlet Tester, I tested the ‘offending’ outlet, and it showed as CORRECT. I proceeded to test the rest of the outlets in my home. Most came up as CORRECT, but an unused one came up as LIVE NEUTRAL REVERSE for both sockets. And a heavily-used one came up as MISSING GROUND for both sockets. I immediately unplugged the heavily-used cords, and won’t use that outlet until my electrician addresses the issues. I didn’t try any other functions on this tester, just used it by plugging it into sockets. Testing took a second or two on each plug, and then the ‘plain english’ output in all-caps. I’m really glad I ordered this tester. An electrician found and resolved a serious issue with an outlet in my finished basement a few years after I moved in. It will be good to get these others taken care of. I’ve assisted an electrician relative on wiring an addition to his home, not doing any of the real electrical work, but observing. I’m not an expert, so this Aicevoos DS2 3-Wire 120V Outlet Tester was perfect for me. I’ll also have my electrician check out the outlet that threw an error on my surge protector, but checked out CORRECT with this tester. This outlet tester seemed to work well, and I have no reason not to recommend it.

I have a similar device that just has colored lights and costs less, but this is easier to read. It also will test for GFI working correctly. I talso shows you the current and frequency. If it trips when you plug it in for GFI, that is the purpose, to test it. If it does NOT trip when you are testing it then you are not protected.
