Fantastic processor. Most games I throw at it barely make a dent on processor usage. The clock speed and amount of cores certainly help with modern games, more so in open world games. I upgraded from a Ryzen 2600x and have observed more consistent frame rates in games like Far Cry 5 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

To begin I bought this (ryzen 7 3800x), but received a ryzen 7 5800x. I didnt mind, because it was a free upgrade, but it says it comes with a cooler, but mine didnt. I was lucky enough to be able to use my old cooler, but now I need to get a new cooler. Other than that it runs great and fixed my bottle neck, but now runs very hot until I get a cooler.

Fantastic upgrade to my 1600. It boosts to 4.3 ghz without any tweaking, and single-core performance is finally on par with Intel. Paired with RTX 2080 at 1440p and immediately noticed the difference in gaming, particularly in CPU-intensive scenarios involving AI and highly-populated areas. At 1080p the FPS increase is even more noticeable. 8 cores also mean I can have a ton of things running/open in the background. Very satisfied with purchase.

If overclocking at all, water cool. The little guy runs hot!

The CPU memory controller failed within 2.5 years. I will never buy an AMD CPU again and am going back to Intel for life. To further add details, the PC would not POST and kept throwing a 07 code. At first I thought it was bad RAM or a bad memory slot on the motherboard itself, but it turns out the memory control module on the CPU failed (which interacts with the RAM). Effectively this means the CPU died! I even tested in another system. Same problem. So its not the motherboard or other components, but the CPU failed.

OK so, before 50 min avi recode took 13 minutes to mp4 - now I did one in less than a minute. CPU didnt even break a sweat. Enough said

Built my pc from scratch! Didnt have a problem and have yet to have one! Price could be better but honestly i had to build my pc around what processors are available at the time!
