Feel like I won the lottery just getting a 5000 series CPU in hand. 18% overclock with stable temps on an air cooler is even better. Had been holding out for 5900x and ultimately paid over MSRP, but thats the world we live in. A significant, but not amazing step up from 3600XT. No regrets. Im hearing these heat up more than the other models. I copped an AIO to hopefully counter the heat increase.

What more is there to say. Running it with a 3080 and seems perfect.

This worked great paired with a MSI MAG Tomahawk for about a month, then all of a sudden my computer just went straight to a black screen. Would not boot up, could occasionally get into the bios, but my motherboard would show a VGA error code. After swapping in known working gpu, ram, power supply, brand new motherboard, the only thing left that it could be is the cpu. Good luck finding one in stock to replace it. I need a working computer so everything I bought is getting sent back because I am not going to find a new one at retail price anytime soon. First time I have gone AMD in almost 20 years and it hasnt left a good impression.

Ersetzt auf meinem B450 MoBo einen Ryzen 2600X und wird mit einem Scythe Mugen Rev. 5 luftgekühlt. Aktuelles BIOS geladen, CPU getauscht und Neustart: läuft ausgezeichnet und keine Scherereien. Der Performance-Gewinn ggü Zen+ ist auch jenseits der Benchmarks spürbar - vor allem Games laufen etwas geschmeidiger und die FPS in meinen bevorzugten Games sind merklich angezogen. Ja, der 5800X wird in Extremsituationen (Benchmarking) sehr heiß (bis zu 140 Watt müssen halt abgeführt werden) und die Hitze nimmt teilweise sprunghaft zu. Aber die Hitzköpfigkeit des Achtkerners läßt sich problemlos mit dem Tool: Clock Tuner for Ryzen 2.0 (ausführliches Tutorial usw. auf der Homepage Igorslab) beruhigen. Mit CTR 2 ist undervolting und Effizienzsteigerung der CPU kein Problem. Zusätzlich läßt sich das Sample der CPU prüfen (Siehe Bild).
