American Marine PINPOINT pH Probe

Needed a new probe. Got a new probe. Its a perfect probe. Long cable is a plus - blue is a plus - plants are happy and the aquarist is happy.

It works as advertised

Been working great for the last two months on a Reef Angel +. Upon arrival, there was some seepage but it calibrated quickly and has been going strong since. Wouldnt hesitate to order another.

Like the title says. I bought it, plugged it in, calibrated it, put into sump, and have been getting accurate reading since. ** If you dont see it on your APEX controller UI, make sure you have PH probe enabled ** ** Dashboard > Three cog icon > Thermometer icon > PH (make sure checkmark is next to it) **

This replacement probe adds new life to my American Marine PH meter. Calibration with this probe is easy and quick. It is working well for my planted tank.

The first time I used this the bulb broke and the original one is still good over a year later. I will not buy from here again and will only purchase this item directly from the manufacturer.

Good value. Holds its calibration well and stabilises at a new reading fairly quickly. Its not a high priced unit so I did do a quick check on the accuracy. After calibrating with standard buffers at 7.0 and 10.01 I made up a pH 7.8 potassium phosphate buffer solution and the probe (with American Marine pinpoint pH meter) gave a reading 0f 7.79. Im a home user and only interested in the range from 7.0 to 9.0 so please bear that in mind when reading my review.

Best pH meter on the market for the price. This is my third one. I find they should be replaced every three years or so. You can tell when there is an issue with accuracy after long term use. The solution inside becomes ineffective, or in the case of my last one, it developed miniscule leak that lead to algae in the sensor. No big deal, you cannot expect an instrument of this type to last forever.

I used them at 80 c high temperature acidic slurry and they are very durable. After a couple days I still found they can measure accurately by checking the standard solution.
