Screen door hasnt worked this well in years. This is a very easy fix and apparently routine maintenance if your patio door sees a lot of use. I honestly had no idea it was so cheap and easy make my old door operate like new again.

Original had broken after 28 years. Door itself is in great shape. This item fit in easily and seems to work fine. The wheel isnt of the same quality as the original but works. Hopefully this outlasts the door.

This product is a PERFECT replacement for the roller assembly for my sliding screen door. Mine broke and finding a replacement was not easy. My first stop was the local hardware store; they had lots of roller assemblies, but none that matched the one from my screen door. I considered Home Depor and Lowes, but decided to try amazon.com and typed in screen door roller assembly into the search field and up came several dozen of models - Amazing! I looked at the pictures and found the one that matched. [BTW, until I saw the picture and its title, I didnt know that I had an Andersen Screen Door]. Removing the old, broken roller assembly was very difficult. It says you need to push the tabs on either side of the roller assebly together so it will slide out of the slot in the door; a difficult, but not impossible process. Actually, that didnt wok for me. On the roller assembly that was broken, the tabs had already broken off (thats why it no longer worked), so the assembly could be pulled out, a long-nosed pliers and a very hefty pull would help. On the other roller, the only way I could get it out was to break the tabs off on purpose; you could not push them together since the plastic had become hard and brittle with age. One person can do this, but it would be a lot easier if you had a second person to steady the door while you use both hands to extract the roller assembly. The replacement just pops into the slot; thats easy. A suggestion: Replace both rollers while you are at it. That way you only have the aggravation once.

One of the rollers on my old Andersen screen slider broke and the other was pretty worn. One YouTube video and a few minutes later, they were both replaced. Rolls like new!
