> 24 hourThis, just like the original, is PLASTIC! Hardly a proper latch. If someone really wanted to gain entry, all they have to do is force it and it WILL break, just like the original it is replacing! Would have been MUCH better if made of metal. As is, it will only deter a small child from opening it, that is if they dont damage the screen in the process.

> 24 hourI was so happy to find this fixture on Amazon. I didn’t think they made separate pieces to replace worn out ones. I was thinking I’d have to buy a whole new screen door since it was installed in 1991. It was easy to install and it’s working beautifully.

> 24 hourSecures screen door closed from mild pressure. My cats can no longer open screen with their paws and and then leave open for bugs and their pleasure. (photo 1). The screen pet door is too much trouble. Ha! (pic 2). One note, be careful you dont inadvertently turn the tab to lock position while the door is open as you could clip the tab of if you close the screen hard. I think that is what happened to mine. It lasted 15 years.
