My baby turtles went to bask almost immediately when I hooked it up. It comes with 2 different bulbs 25w or 50w. I used the 50w and there’s a dimmer switch so you can adjust it even more.

Great pack of bulbs. My local stores dont carry large packs like this. I love the savings of the bulk pack. And these bulbs work very well for my small tanks.

These bulbs, out of the box, look great and seem like they should work as any other bulb should. Hopefully they last as other reviews have mentioned them breaking within a few days.

Depending on how close the light is, it gets really warm for my terrapin so I keep the light 10inch away from the spot. I don’t know the longevity at the moment but definitely good value for money. Gets really hot so be careful not to touch it! Only lamps! Note: Doesn’t come with the stand and socket.

I was skeptical about using such a small bulb, but I decided to give it a try anyway. I have a red earred slider (RES) turtle in a 55-gallon aquarium. She was due for a new UV bulb, so I used one of these. Its small, but it produces a lot of heat! My turtle used to bask here and there but spent most of her time hanging out in the water. Since installing this bulb shes spent a lot more time basking on her floating dock. She seems to enjoy this bulb more than the pricier UV bulbs I was using before. I cant speak to the longevity of this bulb, as Ive only had it in there for one week, but so far so good! We turn the light on in the morning when we get up (7am) and we turn it off before bed (10-11pm), so its on for long hours. It comes on right away and starts producing heat within seconds. My turtle approves.

This is perfect. It keeps Stan (my turtle) nice and toasty on his Sun rock. Came with two bulbs, one as a back up. Id probably suggest yall work on how you package the bulbs cause they were both pretty banged up when i got them but still works.

My tortoise loves this heating lamp! Definitely recommend to help your turtle bake in the sun whenever theres not enough sunlight for them. The different settings are a plus too.

The terrarium for a couple constrictors that live with us is in one of the darker rooms of the house. This light provides the daylight spectrums to help keep them healthy. The lamp gooseneck is flexible, and clamps easily to a 3/4-inch board. The on/off switch is also a dimmer control, allowing a specific amount of light (and heat) to be emitted. For us, the 25w light at full power is adequate - we dim down the 50w light. Concerns are around the lifetime of the H4 bulbs...but since we have the light not clamped to the terrarium, the chances of it getting bumped while on are reduced. In any case, you want to wait until the unit has cooled before moving it. (Edit) 25w bulb lasted 2 weeks, bumped the stars down accordingly.

Our red slider turtle, Shelly LOVES her new UVA - UVB light! She will lay and bask in it for literally HOURS! The light is nice and bright and warms up quick. It comes with two different bulbs each with different wattage so you can swap them out as needed. The stand is strong and also flexible so you can set it up just right for your animal. The clip is super strong as well! The cord has a decent amount of length to it and the knob is handy! It’s has a twist knob which allows you to control the brightness of the bulb. This is very handy for my daughter as she dims it down when they go to bed and brightens it back up for Shelly during the day. It also works as a nice little night light lol all in all this is an awesome multipurpose basking light that covers all of your reptile needs while also still being easy and convenient to use. It all comes intact as well. You just gotta open the box with the bulb and screw it in the stand. Plus it in, clamp it on and you’re all set. Definitely recommend!

I admit to being a bit overwhelmed with the UV/UVA-UVB specs and criteria. My turtle is 20yrs old, when i got her it was just “UV” light. Anyway, this lamp and bulbs cover whatever is needed, as it offers both UVA and UVB light. It puts off a good bit of heat for its’ size, so i just point it at my turtles’ basking area, and everyone’s happy! For reference purposes, the turtle pictured with the light is probably about 4 inches in length — aka, the lamp is tiny. I’d say the bulb is 2-2.5 inches in diameter. I’m saying this because my turtle in about 8-10 inches in length, so the lamp needs to be close, i just make sure that it isn’t so close that the heat is uncomfortable. So far, so good! I’ll update if needed.
