> 3 dayAlthough package arrived with a knife slice clear across the bag, with dirt in that portion of the padding, I just cut that section out & dont use it. As for quality, yeah - these are better than Fluval Quik Clear & slightly thinner, allowing me to use 2 of them at the top of each of my Fluval Edge filters to be sure all the small particles are grabbed. Definitely cheaper than Fluval too, so as long as seller doesnt get greedy & jack the cost Ill continue to buy these for a long time. I go through this type of filter fast with 3 large frogs.

> 3 dayI live in the South and fish with live minnows, threadfin and gizzard shad. Keeping them alive between fishing trips is a hassle to say the least. I built a circulating bait tank in my garage using a bilge pump and aerator for air circulation. I constantly filter the water to control ammonia levels of the water. Previously I, as well as many of my friends, had used synthetic pillow stuffing as on of the filter material. For several reasons that just never seemed to do the job adequately. I purchased this product, cut it to size for my 4 diameter filter system, and it seems to be working wonderfully so far. I have been using it for about two weeks and already notice a significant improvement over the previous materials I have used. Being able to keep this costly bait alive and well until the next fishing trip as opposed to just tossing them into the lake when Im done fishing presents a huge savings which will more than pay for the reasonable cost of this product.

> 3 dayI used to use this pad in my sump filter too where it worked great. But now I buy a roll to cut into small rectangles for use in my Fluval Edge. One pack of this filter pad material and some time spent measuring and cutting are a real money saver. The filtration of the dual stage material is also great.

> 3 dayI have 2 tanks. A 10 gallon that Ive had since the 70s (it is just fine; a few betas that live happy and healthy with a 20 gallon Aqueon filter) and a 40 gallon breeder tank I have for 5 big goldfish. Goldfish are pigs, and dirty. I was going through Aqueon 30 gallon filters like crazy. I have 2 hanging in this tank. I was even washing them off weekly and refilling them with charcoal and ammonia absorb every other week. It got to the point that I couldnt get the water clear anymore and I just didnt have the extra funds anymore to keep purchasing the boxes of filters I needed. I just got this roll last week. I put it in the filters Thursday evening and when I got up Friday morning, my water was crystal clear! I did refill the old, ratty, thin, falling apart filters with charcoal and ammonia absorb (kept the worn out ones for spares when doing water changes). Its been 4 days and no clouding in the pigfish tank yet. I just fed them an hour ago and the water is back to normal clear already. I dont care what anyone says, you feed the fish flakes and the water gets a tad cloudy. This is now my filter fluff. Mind you, I did try that blue and white filter stuff I got at the local fish store for a month. Nada, zilch, nugga. I now use that for cleaning the walls of the tank. One more thing. When I do my water changes, I water my indoor plants. I’ve had mega basil, oregano, parsley, mint and thyme all winter long (pizza and mojitos). The aquarium water also does wonders for all my other flowers, plants and trees. Don’t waste the aquaponics water!

> 3 dayI have two of the Fluval C series filters, each is a different size. All you have to do it cut to the size you need and install. Much more economical.

Greater than one weekThis filter material is used in my Marineland Penguin biowheel 150 HOB filters. I affix them to the frame that originally came with the filter, by fastening them to the fram with two sturdy rubber bands. I change the filter material at least every two weeks or sooner. This work-around saves money compared with the prepackaged filters sold by Marineland.

> 3 dayYou will be able to cut cost of proprietary filters by cutting you own. These are very washable and reusable even under heavy loads like large goldfish or koi species. 8 tanks to take care of and a roll still will last me 2 months or more. A great value for the money and who does not want to cut costs these days.

> 3 dayFilter media work well for saltwater and freshwater aquariums. I have used it for several months and really like how clean it keeps the water.
