> 3 dayThis pad works well for cleaning and polishing in the filter. Have a bit of a hard time when I try to cut it to fit my Seachem Tidal, but I get it close to size. Will buy again.

Greater than one weekThis product is great for the money. I use this in my Marineland Emperor 400 HOB filter. I used to have two filters on my 45 gallon tank, but after using this in addition to my regular filter media, I dont need a second HOB filter. The water is amazingly clear! I also use this in my Eheim Quick Vac. I noticed that even though the mesh in the vacuum is very fine, a lot of stuff escapes the mesh back into the tank. I remove the filter canister and cut a piece of this pad to fit the canister. I shove it in there, and when I vacuum the tank, the water flowing back into the tank is filtered, no poop or gunk going back in the tank. Overall, very happy with this filter pad.

Greater than one weekI buy a roll a few times a year, cut it up in rectangles and use it along with other foam media in my hang on filters. It can also be used around an intake filter for odd ends. They go in white and come out brown. Because of the low price I usually throw out the rectangle and replace it instead of rinsing and reusing. It helps keep the other foam media from building up as well. Before I found this, I spent a lot more money buying other things that the pet store tells you to buy which don’t last as long.

> 3 dayIt takes a lot of time cutting it to shape and size of filter and in the end it doesnt make a difference, Ive been in this hobby for 10 years and I bought this once and I will never buy it again

> 3 dayUnlike the other filters I use, these need to be handled with kid cloves. Cannot clean them with a garden hose, the layers will separate. They do a great job filtering green algae.

> 3 dayI live in the South and fish with live minnows, threadfin and gizzard shad. Keeping them alive between fishing trips is a hassle to say the least. I built a circulating bait tank in my garage using a bilge pump and aerator for air circulation. I constantly filter the water to control ammonia levels of the water. Previously I, as well as many of my friends, had used synthetic pillow stuffing as on of the filter material. For several reasons that just never seemed to do the job adequately. I purchased this product, cut it to size for my 4 diameter filter system, and it seems to be working wonderfully so far. I have been using it for about two weeks and already notice a significant improvement over the previous materials I have used. Being able to keep this costly bait alive and well until the next fishing trip as opposed to just tossing them into the lake when Im done fishing presents a huge savings which will more than pay for the reasonable cost of this product.

> 3 dayUpdated review MAR 2019 - cut material and utilized on HOB filters, and have cleaned every 3 days for a month, A better media than disposable. Used in wet/dry sump, and just added to canister filter trays in conjunction with bio-sponges, will add rating and function review after a month of using in three Penn Plax canister filter trays, 700, 1000, & 1200 versus the disposable replacements. Updated review AUG 2018 - Had tested three other high quality filter media with different levels of micron, and this is the most versatile, since the media is about 3/4 inches thick and allows high flow with a high rate of filtration. because of the bonded dual micron filter media. Having utilized the single layer media, there is no comparison to the function of the layered. Very high quality material compared to the original provided with my wet/dry (fresh water) sump filter. It does appear this material can be rinsed and re-used, if customer wanted to do that to extend life and reduce waste. Easy to cut with a good pair of sharp scissors, for custom size. For optimum cleaning, use an outside water hose with a nozzle. But then rinse in your water out of the aquarium to clean anything from the tap water. Previous purchase and review - Utilized in a salt water type, 75 gallon aquarium, for large Cichlids (fresh water), with a fine sand media. This is a first purchase of this product, and was concerned of receiving a inferior product at this price, but was pleasantly surprised with the superior quality of this product. This does well with cleaning and continued use, but can be disposable.
